| Mormon Theology
The basic Mormon belief is that when the last of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ died, the true gospel died with him. And that, the true gospel was restored when God gave His revelation to the Mormon prophet, Joseph Smith. This is where students of this religion should begin to gain an understanding of Mormonism. This restoration of the true gospel has confered upon the Church the Authority of Jesus Christ. (This might account for the judgemental attitudes of Church members.)
On the subject of Mormon prejudices toward Black People, it should be understood that it is in their religion. It is believed that when Cain slew his brother Able, Cain was cursed with a Black skin. So that when, as a Black man, you have to face justice in the courts of Utah, you are already viewed as the epitomy of evil. A Mormon jury already has preconceived notions of your moral character predicated upon their religious belief.
