well, i have posted it here and elsewhere before, but reading your message rekindled it. its not an attack, but in mind a continuation of the conversation - the need for black people to let go of our individuality, which is most often based in western (read white) lifestyles and examine the culture that was stripped of us. sexual activity is just as important as political activity in african terms. and i dont want you to think i am baiting you. feel free to stay of it as you wish.
my point is that on SO many levels we act outside of our african selves, because our assumptions about balance are based white roots. that goes as much for me as you, or anyone else for that matter. when looking at that way, none of us are exempt. this is just "one" of many things we need to reconsider as africans. - if we are serious about freedom.
again, i wanna stress - we all fail short of expressing and reclaiming our africanity. so while i am using our discussion to fuel this one, we can all take this opportunity to examine ANY part of us that we know is borrowed from white culture. so this isnt about snappin' at cornerkick. i hope you can dig that.
