More Info: The Siafu's Drum
For those who have expressed interest in writing and/or helping with The Siafu’s Drum below is a list of sections/topics, with explanation, that will be included in the newspaper. These sections/topics are:
News (This section will include our analysis on local [Metro Atlanta & Georgia], national, and international news. Also this section will include legal issues that are for us and against us on the local, national, and/or international level)
Health/Nutrition How-to (This section will teach how to do something useful. Topics can range from how to grow food to how to sew to how to build a house.)
African Culture (This section is open to our vast African Culture)
Cartoon Strip (There will be two political cartoons or cartoon strips each issue of this newspaper)
Music Review
Book Review
General Articles (This section is for article that may not fall into one of these specific categories)
Knowledge (This is a section we will write about Our grand history)
Relationship On the Shoulders of Our Freedom Fighters (This will be a section where we honor Our Freedom Fighters of the past, present, and future)
Kids Corner (This section will be dedicated to Our children. This section will include Our own nursery rhymes, stories, and other information that is generally useful to Our children and young kids)
Columnist (There will be a couple of columnist for our newspaper.)
Also those who would like to be columnist submit at least 5 articles. The deadline has been pushed up to Dec. 20, 2004. Please try to have your article/s in before that date. No articles will be accepted afterwards. Those who plan to write please include your sources using MLA standards (
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handou...rch/r_mla.html) for your source listing. Also try to limit your article/s to 500 - 1000 words. Writers will reserve there own original copyright and will not be paid financially for there writing. If this is shocking or surprising news, please realize The Siafu’s Drum is an organizing tool to organize and educate the masses, and also to help fund many different programs that currently are in progress, such as the feed the people programs, tutoring programs, political education classes, daycare, and other future People programs.
