The Death and Rebirth of the
Feminine Principle

Introduction


The planet Venus is currently going through a transit around the Sun. This transit occurs once every couple of hundred years. Being that Venus is the only planet assigned with feminine characteristics this is significant to the universe in many aspects. That which happens astrologically is not merely abstract or conceptual; it affects us in very tangible ways.

Over the period of 5,000 years the significance of the Goddess (female aspect of the Creator) has been downplayed and even disrespected throughout the world. In order to understand the destructiveness of this we have to elevate this concept so we understand it spiritually. Those of us who are spiritually inclined are aware of the laws of the universe and are therefore aware of the law of polar opposites, the yin and yang, masculine and feminine principles. In order for balance, peace and harmony to prevail the two must work together. One is not greater than the other even though each has specific roles and the energies manifest in a number of ways.

The imperialism of the Europe has slowly deteriorated our innate connection with this spiritual concept because we have adopted the western social construct, its values and norms. Those of us who are believers of Ifa have yearned for a spiritual tradition that assists in maintaining balance within ourselves and in turn we balance our environment. The wisdom of the ancient African ancestors is clear to us. It has liberated us from the pseudo-independence the world offers to us.

Part of the malaise of the western culture is its patriarchal domination. The result is violence, oppression, hunger, disease and greed. We are a lost world. For thousands of years Isis, Kali, Mary, Eve, Yemaya, Diana and Oshun have been banished from participating in what they helped create. They have been banned from helping us evolve through the spiritual process of Mother Earth (ironically enough). They are returning with a vengeance.

In this series we will explore the removal of female power in all its various forms and the resulting sickness (imbalance) as a consequence. We will also look at how a new age is coming into being. The Mothers are coming back to take what has been stolen from them.
