Placing Altars/Shrines

Does anyone really know how to place Orisha/Ntru altars/shrines...according to specific energy..A brother gave me an example like dont put fire next to fire...Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Esu almost always go at the door, behind the door or outside. (sometimes they go near the other Orisa in which they are given with..for example, in some lineages when you get an Orisa like Osun or Sango, it also comes with a path of Esu.)

Aside from this each Orisa shrine is asked (using its consecrated divination tool) and it tells you where It should be placed. The Orisa decide, not us. If its unconsecrated, that is, you made it on your own...what we can a tributary shrine, you can place it wherever you like. Quiet, clean, low traffic area. Of course there are exceptions, some Orisa like kitchens. I have had Orisa request to be in my son's bedroom.

Greetings! I just moved and the only space i got aviable to place my altar is in a wall almost completely covered by a mirror, so it should be placed in front of it.... but i havent done it yet coz I thought that wouldnt be a good idea. Mirrors are know to affect or reflect energy... What do you think?

Alaafia,

Mirrors deflect energy. For instance, one would place a mirrior, face out near a window to keep out bad energy.

The first question to ask your ancestors is if they wished to be placed outside or on the floor.

Esu and Egun almost always belong outside if you have the space and if they want it. But they should be asked.
