Its kind of hard to start back.. I tried.. some egg-drop soup..smh..NOT GOOD FOR MY BODY..lol. Then, I had some milk and cereal..ask WombanAuset and GIA bout what happen to me..lol. Its crazy. But, I feel what brother Rebelafrika is saying too.. about surviving. When time gets hard, when there is nothing else to eat..and the body cant bare ANY meat.. and thats all you see.... thats a struggle for ya. Its not like getting sick, and becoming immune. Its like getting sick and almost dying. I would suggest you to try some gradual process as well as consulting someone with some factual knowledge about it though. |

i am a vegatarian.... they put addictive material in the meat so u feel u need it.... when i was becoming a vegatarian i couldn't put down fish for the longest time.... beef was real hard too (even though i rarely ate beef growing up) its a day to dayt struggle.. but you can eventually work it out.... You don't "need" the meat... don't believe what they say.... drink lots of water.... (i shoot for a gallon) and take it day by day... but really that meat is poison...DON'T GIVE UP |

| The reason for the sickness...
Your body had enough time to cleanse itself and when you put the the drug over-dosed, parasite filled, toxic meat back in your system it went into shock! Literally! By puttng Black people into certain parts of town, limiting our meager incomes, charging us more for less and putting "grocery" stores and "fast food" places in our neighboorhoods that serve toxic materials as food; they are killing us through what we eat! Let's not forget that it is no accident that the last of the Black Farmers are being driven off their land and Black people are now being housed in projects and apartments where there usually is not enough land to grow some food and even if there is, because we don't "own" the property or the buildings we are not allowed to plant anything there. Also, I don't know if you all are aware of this but if you live in a home with a yard that has space for gardening; some common things they will do are: charge us more for water and use the helicopters and small planes that fly over our homes to drop plant killing chemicals on our gardens! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by 5602; 06-04-2006 at 05:07 PM. |

As more people’s eyes came open to the importance of diet in overall health the greedy and wicked manipulators of the US economy DELIBERATELY made it so healthy eating approached and in some cases exceeded the expense of eating pure garbage. Think about this - ask your families - shopping in the fresh produce section of the market WAS THE POOR PEOPLES fare. The same was true outside of the US. yuca, cassava, yams, corn, fruits, and plantain were our staples. Now how in the world could ravioli, cold cuts, chicken wings and "wonder" bread be less expense then fresh produce? It should also be noted that the bright red color you find in the meat in every market is a complete farse. lol This red color is suppose to signify in your mind 'fresh meat' like they just killed it in the back of the supermarket. LOL The meat in your supermarket was killed weeks sometimes months before. The red you see is a chemical added - meat turns a dark almost brownish read shortly after it is killed - to make you believe you are eating fresh meat. You never had fresh meat. If you actually ate fresh meat at this point you would be immediately sickened or repulsed by it. A trick is being played - one that will keep us sick for generations. It is well known to scientist that over time poor diet begins to affect the body on a cellular/dna level - creating the precursors for cancer, gout, diabetes etc. These can be passed on to your children - and is the reason some people who never smoked in their lives or ate healthy their whole lives can still come up with cancer and other "life style" diseases. The bottom line soldiers is if you're sick you cannot fight. Any organizers here know and have come across folks that seem to just not "want to work" for the people. It isn't that they don't "want to work" they don't have the vitality to do it because of their diets. The relationship between health and the WILL is also well known. The WILL is the gateway to our divine SELF which is the key to trancending the Sahu and overthrowing the Set & Apep. I have said this here before - if you understand the society you live in to be criminal in its dealings and lack of concern for you but you rely on them for your food!! THen there is a serious problem. Time to create our own cooperative markets family. FORWARD EVER!! BACKWARD NEVER!!

Hotep family and thanks for all your responses. I must state that I havent touched meat since giving it up over a year now. A friend of mine went back to eating meat and I just wanted to know if anyone else followed suit and the reasons behind it. I totally understand the cost thing. I buy all organic fruits and veg for myself and my princess and thats half my shopping budget. Thank God I dont buy meat anymore otherwise..... When I was in Chicago earlier this month, I went into a shop called Wholefoods and thought I died and went to heaven! lol. I LOVED it, it had everything...down to vegan cheese cake ( had to buy a piece) and it tasted delicious! But looking at the prices, compared to the pound, it was about the same, they make it soo expensive to eat healthy, but it is a sacrifice that l make every week for my health. |

well, step by step. if u are short of money like me, you dont need to eat garbage. what is that u eatin RebelAfrika that is so cheap and at the same is garbage? truly i would like to know what you are talkin about. Im saving a lot of money since i stopped eatin meat. I still eat fish and everytime i buy it its like four times more expensive than anything else i get on my shoppin list! if u are short of money u can still be vegetarian but not organic, which it is whats really expensive. Rice, potatoes, beans, peans, spinach, brocoli, fruit, couscous, squash, onion, garlic, tomatoes, carrots (carrots is like the cheapest thing here), bread. all of that is cheaper than meat and fish. I do get mocus everytime i try to drink milk. but i been eating meat during xmas and nothing happened to me. well i was feelin tired but i cant blame the meat for that for i was traveling a lot and working a lot.

I gave up meat cold turkey in 98. In 2001, I stopped eating dairy. November of 2007 I started eating farm raised fish because I had a bad vit B12 deficiency. The first time I had it, I made a soup. I couldn't get myself to eat the fish, but I had the broth. I knew it was addictive because a few days latter, I had a craving for it, and this time I ate the fish too. The last time I ate, it was about a few weeks ago and even though I am "supposed" to, I don't plan on eating it again. It hasn't made me feel sick, but I just don't really like the feeling of eating flesh. Eating flesh is addictive, the more flesh you eat, the more difficult it is to stop. There are chemicals and hormones in meats, which trigger these cravings. In my case, if I hadn't been ill I would have never started eating it again. Then again, if I had been eating a balanced diet all along, I would have never gotten ill. As far as the expense, I haven’t found it expensive to live as a vegetarian, in fact, I may spend less on food then most meat eaters. The only way I can see that its expensive is I buying many mock "meat" products, which aren't healthy either. If we cook all of our foods (veggie burgers and all), it is actually quite cheap. If you want to afford to make your own vegan treats and things (cakes, cookies, burgers, mock meats) you have to buy the ingredients on sale or when in season, stock up, and store. This saves a lot of money in the end. When you compare the price of fresh produce to the price of meat per lbs, it is quite in expensive. Then compare the price of organic beans and lentils, to the price of meat per lbs. Again, it’s quite cheaper. In the beginning, I did find it expensive because I wanted to substitute meat for a like product; these mock products can only go so far. I would eliminate them in just a matter of days. Dried bead curd, tofu (by the dozen), and TVP are cheaper then the already made products, and healthier for you. |

I've been a vegetarian off and on. I use to slip up and get that meat craving from time to time. They really do put chemicals in the meat to make you become addicted. My reason for becoming vegetarian in the first place was mostly for health reasons but now it's more ethical which means I'm more likely to stand firm in my stance since now I can't stand the idea of killing my food. .

I was...going through somethings And had some pasta with ground turkey in it early last week but it made me feel so sick at the taste and smell not to mention the simple idea that this animal was AN ANIMAL that I know for sure now that I will never touch any more flesh.
