I made this reference in light of this tragedy concerning Kanye West’s mother, for it’s easy to cite how many horrible deaths are attributed to female circumcision in Africa and assert that one death is, “one death too many� (which is true), with that being true, it’s interesting how when the term “rare� or “rarely� is used in the west when it concerns deaths attributed to “western� medicine (as most doctors do), and in this case, plastic surgery, it seems as if it’s something trivial, still relatively safe, and not to be concerned about.

They have us so brained-washed in this country, so that this capitalist exploitive culture is never challenged, we never stop to make the proper comparisons when it comes to the many damning and deadly culturally accepted practices in this country as compared to other places, be those other place are in Africa, the so-called developing world, or even Europe in some cases.

He should definitely check out the credentials of the doctor. Inasmuch as cosmetic surgery can be rather profitable, many uncertified, and altogether unqualified, doctors perform such operations. It is illegal for uncertified doctors to perform plastic surgery. But, any doctor, irrespective of specialty, can perform cosmetic surgery. From what I've read, it appears that Kanye's mother was getting the latter done.

It's akin to getting an electrical engineer to do a civil engineer's work. Or, vice versa.

Similarly, it's akin to getting a tax attorney to undertake patent prosecution or litigation.

Also, it is against the law(their law) for any uncertified surgeon to branch off into anything that is not his her forte.

I also will ask..did this good woman have self worth before her son became famous?. i ask because it seems as though many people are ok with what they have until they get to **GOLLY!!WOOD** and start seeing the fake breast jobs, FAKE booties, nose jobs, fake hair, skin peels, tunmmy tucks etc..

That's not the case with cosmetic surgery. Any licensed medical doctor can legally perform cosmetic surgery. And a lot of MDs, despite not having the requisite training and education, are taking advantage of this boom industry.

Doctor's are driven by the need to offset suffocating malpractice premiums, medical school loans, and so on. The patient is looking for a cheaper route to obtain what they desire, as the same procedure would be comparatively more expensive if performed by a licensed plastic surgeon. Logically speaking, it is a good match. But, it can be deadly.

feeling sad?...pop a pill and feel better

looking lumpy, droopy, wrinkly (for a lack of a better word or term) get it sucked out/cut off/pulled back/burned off..

This culture is such that it makes you feel so pressed for time that if you don't accomplish it right away you're going to be left behind.

If the doctor is certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, he or she is most likely a plastic surgeon!

But, as I stated, with or without certification, any licensed doctor in the United States can perform cosmetic surgery.

It'd be in the best interest of the patient to obtain a board certified practitioner--namely, a plastic surgeon. But, as I pointed out, it is more expensive.

You’re so right Sister Mamazen, we have pills and invasive procedures for literally every thing, otherwise these doctors and pharmaceutical companies couldn’t make the “Big money�. A pill for twitching legs, a pill to be more sociable, a pill to get an erection, a pill to resolve the issues of the last pill you took…

As far as was the physician competent or not, we must remember, that for the most simplest procedure you sign a statement that informs you of those 1 in a thousand chances as it concerns many of the complications that may come after, or during your surgery, for all surgeries are serious business; Kanye’s mother may have, of course unbeknownst to her, merely fell into that small minority of people to which those complications applied. Just because you got money or education doesn’t mean you can escape death and sorrow.
