Willie Morrow Speaks about Organically Straightening Hair

Black hair care has been lacking research for many years. What consumers may not know is that the publisher of EHN has devoted over 51 years to research and development. In this issue of EHN, you will have the opportunity to join our voice to help us end the hair loss epidemic and help us spread the awareness of the many healthy hair care options of the future.

For example, a mineral structure and its composition is generally perceived as a solid substance such as a rock or a diamond.
A water-soluble mineral is a mineral that crystallizes when exposed to oxygen, liquefies when exposed to water salted or non-salted water.
Sea salt turns to crystal when dried. Salt water can penetrate the hair shafts tiny pores due to its molecule size. Moisture seeps out as perspiration does from the body when it perspires.

Salt minerals seals in moisture by bonding and crystallizing a thin layer of tightly woven mineral crust that protects meat from spoiling and the hair from the elements. Once the outer surface is secured, moisture is sealed out externally.
The Alkaline Mineral Hair Softening system is naturally treats the hair the same way.

Note: Once meat is sealed in salt, weeks later the salt is removed and the meat is dried in a hot house or thermo dried in a chemical dried process removing the surface moisture only and curing it. The Sea Salt mineral relaxing system is made with salt minerals that straightens and softens the outer cuticle layer of the hair and its most inner bond structure.

EHN: What led to discovering this product?

WM: My research started out with the discovery of salt minerals as bases of my chemistry. Being an organic, natural, product you can use it on any type of hair texture be it chemically treated hair, damaged, or color treated hair. This science is called “Thermo-tri-act-o-mene.” It is a theory applied to a natural organic formula that gradually straightens the hair with each application. The salt minerals are thermally activated once heat is applied.

However, I must admit that the practice of pressing and curling has survived, and exceeded all other processes, simply because it presents no real threat to the hair. I improved on an old idea and by far have exceeded the efforts of foreigners and locals that have tried to achieve success in making a healthy and safe version of a permanent, straightening product.

The Brazilians, Japanese and Germans, use acid-base hair processors which is old, primitive technology. The goal was to control reverting, but this method has been unsuccessful. Such primitive process damaged the hair because one could never control the dehydration effects of acid. Once it submerges into the cortex of the hair and the acid chemical is heated, the hair is burned from the inside out. This is a condition I call Cuticle Corrosion.

EHN: Why does it cost $500 per application?
WM: The first 3 phases need to be done in the salon on the same day. This science is such an advanced system. You will not lose hair from the use of harsh chemicals. It allows you to keep what you grow. Over-processing is no longer apart of your experience.

EHN:What is the difference between this press and curl system than of the old version?
WM: The old fashioned press and curl was nothing more than grease & oil. As soon as water hits the hair, the curly mat reappears and it needs to be repressed all over again.
EHN: What is it made from?
WM: It is made from alkaline salt mineral formula created with vitamins. The salt used is natural like the salt on the dinner tables of every family; it’s natural and organic. You can apply it over and over again.

EHN: Will it damage my hair?
WM: No! It will never damage natural, relaxed, or colored treated hair because there is nothing in the

EHN: How does it straighten the hair?
WM: It straightens the hair by submerging salt minerals into the hair via heat. The science is call Thermo-tri-acto-mene which is a heat activated process, realigning of the cuticles, while water proofing the hair.
EHN: How often can it be reapplied?
WM: Pressing and curling is normally done weekly or bi-weekly. Just re-apply when it is time to re-press. We recommend this product be applied before each application. The more you apply it the straighter the hair becomes.

EHN: How many applications do I need to apply before it becomes permanently straight?
WM: This depends on your texture. For instance, if you have soft light medium texture a (3) phase press is needed. For curly- course hair 4-5 phase applications and for course hair 5-7 applications.

EHN: Can I apply the product and eliminate the heat?
WM: Yes! But remember this product is heat activated! It is designed to work with heat processes.

EHN: How often do I need to return to the salon to get it done?
WM: Your normal schedule as recommended by your hairstylist, I do recommend returning to your hairstylist every two to three weeks for retouch.

EHN: How much does this product cost? WM: The product is expensive per jar simply because It is a unique salt mineral that is carefully developed in my lab and the minerals are the most potent and richest in nutrients in the world.

EHN: Will my hair grow with the use of this system?
WM: Yes! You’ll keep the hair you grow! There is plenty of hair coming out of the scalp but it never reaches maturity because it never grows out long enough to be admired.
