Mushrooms for Meat!

Mushrooms for Meat!

Of late I have fallen in looooove with mushrooms I buy all kinds and sautee' them in butter and garlic with some lemon juice occasionally. They are the bomb!
Well...my favorites are 'Portabella' they are about an inch thick and have the consistency of meat... after they have been cooked down. I have used them to replace meat in several dishes ....

Have you tried them or do you have a mushroom I might not have tried ...there are so many different ones?

yes, try sautee in olive oil instead of butter, notice the difference you may or may not like, but less fat than butter

I love mushrooms too. ANYTHING that "I" make that requires mushrooms, I OVERLOAD with mushrooms. For me though, the key is RECIPES (listen up people!!! ). So if yall got any mushroom RECIPES, yall should add those to this thread. Don't leave rebelafrika out here to fend for himself in the kitchen with no recipes. Anybody whose tried my food will tell you that "thats just wrong" LOL!!!

Portabella Barbeque Burger

Large portabella with the stem removed, marinated and Barbequed on an open grill…smooth-side down first, to let the marinade cook in. Put on a whole-wheat bun with grilled onions, tomatoes, Barbeque sauce and other fixin’s. This will make a meat eater holla’!!!

The marinade can be as simple as a good oil/vinegar based Italian dressing w/ a little sea or kosher salt and pepper to taste, if necessary.

AWWW guysss... i dont like mushrooms.. They taste and look funny to me... LoL... But i do love pickles with just about anything .. LOL But sis nandi and rebelafrika i'm open to trying one of those recipes of yours. Maybe i'll change my mind.
