Cincinnati activist shot outside city hall

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Reuters) - A black civil rights activist was shot and seriously wounded on Wednesday in what authorities said was a targeted attack outside City Hall, where he had been speaking.

Michael Bailey, a city bus driver who calls himself Gen. Kabaka Oba and leads a civil rights group called the Black Fist, was shot several times while in his car across from City Hall, Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory said.

"We do have a description of the individual involved. Whoever it was who shot Kabaka Oba, targeted him," Mallory said, without providing further details.

A few minutes before the shooting, Bailey had made one of his frequent speaking appearances before a City Council meeting during the body's public comment period. Witnesses said his comments were not unusual, consisting mostly of criticisms of the police.



Bailey was among several black activists who came to the fore during race riots during a five-day period in April 2001 that followed the shooting of an unarmed black man by a white officer. It was one of several instances where officers had shot black suspects, prompting federal oversight of the police department.

I remember one night when me and a fellow comrade was on duty, walking to meet up with some other comrades in our organization, we notice that it was two pigs sitting in a black car, watching us. When they realise that we seen them, they turn their car on and started to follow us slowly. It was like really dark and the street lights didn't work in that area. Fortunately, we made it towards an area where the street lights was working and there were people around so the pigs just drove off but if we didn't know any better we would say that the pigs was making an attempt to take us out.

We are definitly living in a Facist Police State.

Kefentse other useful info would be: what was the circumstances of the "feud"? what was the guy's mind-state, life like immediately before he shot the Brother?; this info will likely never be brought into the public as it is now apart of an "investigation" and criminal proceeding; we know that krakkas are notorious for intensifying discord between Blacks and then stepping back and watching the fallout; they attempt to do the exact same thing in this forum.
