President Bush is back in Africa on five-country tour for the second and
presumably final time during his presidency. Many anticipate that the
President¹s visit is an opportunity to shore up support among African allies
for America¹s strategic and economic interests, including expansion of the
U.S. military command in Africa, AFRICOM. We speak to veteran Africa analyst
Horace Campbell, professor of political science and African American studies
at Syracuse University.

No brutality, mistreatment, or torture has ever forced me to ask for grace, for I prefer to die with my head high, my faith steadfast, and my confidence profound in the destiny of my country, rather than to live in submission and scorn of sacred principles.
