Black Farmers in the US

Black Farmers in the US

The family farm has been under attack
in the US for decades.

The US government's attitude towards
agriculture has been "get big or get out."

It makes huge subsidies for politically
well-connected agribusiness helping them
drive small operators out of business.

The government has been particularly brutal
to black farmers in the South.

Modern agriculture, like many businesses,
requires credit to operate.

Somehow in the Deep South, local Department
USDA (federal agricultural) offices seem to have
a lot of trouble processing agricultural loans
to black farmers.

Interesting, especially in light how the Bush
criminal gang is in such a red hot rush now
to funnel hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars
to their fellow crooks on Wall Street.
