Well to make it short, The Sandkofa schooling sounds like a place for me to offer my assistance, to help the younger brothers and sisters develope their Afrikan centered minds. One question i do have is ? what organization is able to give me a JOB working in such an atmosphere as Sankofa. Im 22 and any information would help. Bleeve it or not, when we bumped into ea other at the AMOCO - formerly part in ARAMCO, Arabian/American Oil Co., on Lee St. and I rushed in & out of Mutana's as a discussion was happen'n about a brutha's flim/flam'd re-incarceration I knew we'd meet again. U reminded so much of one of my sons; and I was highly impressed at the honor and respectful manner u spoke about yo' pops' 'n'em. And the fact that there're still many experienced yunguns out here dealing, relatively un-hyped and know what dem b doing; just a matter of a lil more experience needed - especially dealing with homefront first.

So here this old man is still learning from yungMen like u. U kno, u just mentioned something thats still needed but, like the community members of my then masjid, they had flimsey understanding of SACRIFICE. He and I charged no tuition fees; asked for a lil for school supplies. Both of us were married w/children. We came here Big Apple stylee, buying and selling our wares on downtown streets; ducking dodging, get'n locked up pay'n fines losing merchandise; re-up'n and whatever to feed, clothe and provide shelter for family. Me? If necessary I can sleep ina hallway corner. But family? Unhuh. Also volunteers in our struggles don't get paid cash money; but yung ones get experience and when time is right see what they can offer on their own w/i maybe the same learning spot for them. I'm thinking of a sista professor just got awarded Benjamin E. Mays Seat at Ga. State U.

I'd called her to talk w/a yung wanna goto college sista; no idea why or what for. So the Doc says: have'er call; make appointment and at least she can volunteer 'cause I need a research asst. I tell a few yung friends of the family; not one step'd fwd. Guess they'd rather get bogged down in gov't indebteness and forever after work for their adopted Uncle Sam. Or like otherw with some skills, etc - and everybody must eat, etc - they giv in to quickly to not having basic necessities and sink into total consuming 9-5 if dem ain't firmly grounded. Anyway keep do n whacha do n and I kno there's no need to say to u, as Dr. Ben said: whatever u are, be a Good AFRAKAN!

Yeabo! I digs yunguns planting seeds whose seeds' seeds will still be burrowing up through more than 2,000 seasons of yt enlightening; i.e., like bolts of lightening that sizzles as it burns not up but out our Afrikanness.

Okulaja - the reason I steer yung sistas to the sista doctor, who spelman college got rid of, she's married to a bruh from Mali who translated Qur'an into his Songhai language and proudly said to me: Now! u will see my culture!! that existed before tha coming of the white man, christianity and islam; western capitalism, socialism, communism and just white'isms!!! He'd been forced into islam by family when the only education, i.e. formal ed., was given in French & Arabic! Fortunately he'd been somewhat traditionally reared bfore bcoming straight up muslim. The ancestors are truly powerful. Years ago there was a radio program, had a line: no one knows what evils lurk in the hearts of men....The Shadow knows, it'd go. Well more and more of us r get'n to know that spirits of our ancestors r in us or as Dr. J. Pookrum says, a gene which houses upto 3,000 years of OurStories.
We be get'n wid it....
