Because we live within an alien, anti-Afrikan culture and society, no matter how hard we try, we cannot harness and direct our children's energy and genius toward the Afrikan Way after they have outgrown their dependence on us. Why has what should be so natural become so difficult? Because we have no solid national social (economic, political, educational, military) structure within which they can truly be Afrikan. They have very few valid, open Afrikan centered communities which they can call home. For this reason, when our children become adults, they find it increasingly difficult to freely and righteously exercise themselves to the benefit of their people and confront their enemy in a way that logically and uncompromisingly fits our Afrikan vision. They cannot do both the work of our generation and theirs.

Because of our fears and divided loyalties, we have failed to create a functioning nation for them. We have not built a physical, cultural and spiritual space with clearly defined boundaries and a center which emanates from an ancient, traditional, uncompromised core. We have not provided them with a secure, protected space within which they can safely study themselves and others. In essence, because we have not done this, they have become nationless warriors, furious mercenaries in service to whoever supplies the quickest and easiest opiate from the pain of being Afrikan in a European dominated world.

Don't be upset. Truth is truth. This is no time for us to get on the defensive and be offended with truth just because it makes us look weak, mad and visionless. Our egos, relative to our children's empowerment, should not be so fragile. They should not be an issue. If we are to fully accept our adult responsibility for our predicament, then it should make no difference how we want to look at the state of our children. We have largely acted in error. And, this error in judgement and action indicates that we have seriously underestimated the European threat.

Obviously, we have thoroughly misread their long-range genocidal goal for us. If this were not so, we would not have allowed ourselves to be separated from our traditions and our children from us. We should have known that Europeans know that if you can train the children of your enemy to dismiss/not listen to their parents, then that people will forever continue to make the same self-destructive mistakes over and over again because the ancestral wisdom gained from errors will never be passed down. They know that, if this is done well, these children will pass down whatever ignorance others supply them with as truth. They will never look to their parents, elders or ancestors for their way because they have been taught to have no reason to. Europeans have practiced this knowledge against us well.

Because they have forced their way on us and we have allowed it to become an entrenched obstacle to our ReAfrikanization, the choice for Afrikan youth as to what to do with their genius often becomes caught between the feel-good seduction of meaningless exercises in individualistic, materialistic self-destruction and the virtually desolate isolation of a moral Afrikan mind and practice. Our children's innocence and ignorance lead them to see European and Afrikan irreconcilable realities as worlds of power and powerlessness, respectively. As children, they naturally interpret what appears as stagnation or atrophy among their parents as powerlessness and the Europeans ability to periodically keep us off balance as powerfulness. They naturally gravitate toward power, however deceptive and anti-Afrikan it may be.

Therefore, upon maturity, even the best of those who were trained in the priesthoods which extend deep into our communities, are hypnotically drawn toward the "desert." They blindly seek shelter in a chaotic and numbing reality of dead things and sadomasochistic habits that take away the pain of powerlessness while leading them to defensively make a mockery of their ancestors. They learn that they must uphold this demeaning farce of being an Afropean as normal and worthy of their brilliance in order to maintain any semblance of reasonable insanity. What we have allowed to be done to our children would be unthinkable for a sane people.

Our children are not to blame for their determined flight into whiteness. They neither created this world nor raised themselves. And our children are far from stupid. Early on they recognize that they are burdened with the incompleted and increasingly more difficult task of defeating an enemy who dwells within and without. Those reared well are keenly aware that both corrupting evils grow more entrenched and stronger with every minute of every generation.

The hard questions are to be asked of ourselves. And they are of a most serious nature. Each requires us to look deeply into the greatest enemy within -- fear. We must earnestly ask ourselves, "Why do we continue to pass on our work to those with the least experience in battle?" "Why do we still fear battling our enemies to the death while claiming belief in an Afrikan vision of self-defining, self-determining empowerment?" "Why are we willfully disrespecting our ancestors?" Not having created this hell is no excuse for abandoning our children to it.

Given the current opportunities to be Afrikan, as far as the children go, we might as well raise them as negroes. At least, that way, they wouldn't have to go through the pain of being broken into slaves. They would already be slaves. Because we have not provided them with an empowered social, cultural and spiritual base through our own uncompromising effort where they can see an Afrikan future, it is understandable that they rebel against our demand that they be uncompromisingly Afrikan. We have not fulfilled our role as warrior scholars who have established and strengthened a fortified space where they can be Afrikan. So we continue to leave them as easy prey for the wolves.

We know that freedom is not free. We know that freedom is not a place. It is a vision and an ongoing mission. We know that the mantle of freedom must be assumed by each new generation of its own volition. Yet, most of our children are unaware that they are not free. And, even those who are aware are not entirely to blame for their reactive responses to white supremacy and apathetic fear of taking daring, concrete action. For the most part, our examples for them to follow have been so limited in both quantity and quality. We have not done our work, or have not done it well enough. There is no excusing us for helping to usher in their greater exploitation at the hands of our ourstorical enemies. Be it our fault or otherwise, their destruction is imminent without our continued protection and guidance.

Those of us doing the frontline work of many know how hard this job is. If it was easy to be Afrikan we would not have so many negroes. But even if being Afrikan was a more difficult job than it is, we would do it because we know we are right. Those of us who know this must work harder where we stand. We must put even more energy than ever before into arresting and correcting the European cultural contagion, and compensate for the damage done by negroes and lost souls. It is hard work, very, very hard work. But no warriors have been better prepared or stronger. Regardless of our level of preparedness, though, it is a matter of life and death, so the degree of difficulty is irrelevant.

If we do not already, we must recognize why our children are prey. And we must understand the pull, the lure, the attraction, of Western, individualistic capitalistic culture on impressionable, young minds. We must clearly understand who these wolves are.

For Afrikan centered parents who have earnestly worked to rear their children into Asafo, what is most terrifying is that it is virtually impossible to shield our children from the self-centered imperatives inherent in Western culture and society. It seems that no matter how hard we try, the European finds a way to seep into our children's vision and psyche, making our work more difficult as their cumulative exposure to insanity builds up.

We should not be surprised that those children who are reared to be true warrior scholars are Western society's primary targets. It is only logical for our enemies to target those Afrikan children who have been most carefully, guardedly and directly kept on the Afrikan path. It is no wonder. They are the strongest in their consciousness. It is also only logical that many of these youth work harder than their negro and lost soul peers to be free of the discipline, responsibilities and of being Afrikan because Western society teaches them that these things have unfairly imprisoned them as deprived, backward captives. Because they feel cheated at being kept Afrikan, without European "freedoms" or power, they run the hardest and take the most extreme routes to whiteness.

While most of the youth raised in our priesthoods keep only some Afrikan centered trappings once "released" into the wild that is this Western cultural wasteland, most of those who do hold on do so only until they can fully extract themselves from the Afrikan centered community. They hold on to those things and ways that keep them safe and sane until they are able to completely transform themselves into acceptable Westernized persons. In other words, Afrikan trappings provide a temporary safety net until they can confidently step forward into the European's individualistic area.

Some of these women- and men-in-training, less secure in their flight, keep more within arms reach of an Afrikan safety. Because they still fear their europeanized peers' disapproval, these timid crossover aspirants stay in the shelter of those adults with a semblance or mask of Afrikan centeredness. They use these older, often more confused, subintegration-focused guides as shields, allies against their parents and other, serious Afrikan centered elders.

Interestingly, so many of those they seek guidance from have already rebelled against being uncompromisingly Afrikan after being raised in the same way or being intellectually trained by centered Afrikans who demanded that they be Afrikan. But, even while at their feet, these students saw being truly Afrikan as beyond their possibilities or existing outside a feasible, safe and secure, reality. Therefore, they feel they are better able to advise our children because they have experienced their "deprived, backward" pain. These adult models of compromised Afrikans feed off of the complaints and rejections of our youngsters who seek their assistance in being Afrikan for their parents while at the same time being European for their peers and in their independent lives.

Yet, because some of these youth have not been afforded the tools or mind of the European, they still find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place. They reach out any and everywhere for validation by a white supremacy that will not judge them too harshly for their slowly fading Afrikan ways.

Regardless of their confusion, these are our children. And these are the children of our priesthoods. These are the ones who know. These are the ones who have ourstory in their hearts and could become some of our most brilliant warriors. They are the next generation of Afrikan warrior scholars. So we cannot abandon them as they trip and fall, bruising, cutting and breaking themselves trying to break free of the fortress we have built around them to nurture and protect them from aliens and alien ways.

Afrikan adults must recognize, however, that regardless of how thorough and invulnerable we believe ourselves to be, our children cannot be completely sheltered from an evil insanity without separating them from the call of insanity in a world where insanity rules. Western culture is consciously insidious. And the carriers of Western culture know that the best way to dislocate, fragment and destroy a people is to corrupt their children. For our enemies, the greatest prizes are those of our children who have been taught who they and their enemies are and who are most deftly trained in confronting and waging war against their enemies. Any one who knows war knows that your primary targets are your enemy's best trained soldiers.

Therefore, Afrikan logic dictates the need for an independent, protected, separate community to rear our children into an Afrikan adulthood in or all efforts will be for naught. "If you swim in an ocean of insanity, you're bound to get wet." If we are raising our children to be true nationbuilders we have no choice. There are chances we absolutely cannot take. If, on the other hand, we have chosen to commit treason against our ancestors and have consciously or subconsciously misdefined nationbuilding as "reform" or "subintegration" then we should not become alarmed as our children race toward whiteness. Obviously, we will have gotten what we asked for.

Here, we need to momentarily delve into the question of just what being Afrikan centered means. For many of us, being "Afrikan centered" is no more a label which gives us a sense of importance outside the white supremacist power structure since Europeans refuse to willingly allow us in as equal exploiters. It is a reactive label, with little form and no substance. Many in this peripheralized group still see working toward subintegration as befitting an Afrikan centered label. As their predecessors among a number of the so-called radicals of the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements, these individuals "fight" against Europeans only to force them to accept them into their ranks, homes and hearts. In the end, success is still measured by white approval, white trinkets, white affiliations, white realities. They fight for independence only as a last resort, and an undesirable last resort at that. For them, being Afrikan centered is no more than a scare tactic, a tool to subintegratively leverage themselves into the arms of white power. For this group, being "Afrikan centered" is no more than a defensive label of convenience to keep them from being seen as completely vanquished.

These Afrikans are not nationbuilders, at least not Afrikan nationbuilders. True Afrikan centered nationbuilders do not see Europeans as omnipotent people who will share some of their power with us if we just love them enough. They do not grovel for the crumbs of validation from Europeans. They do not see being the faded shadows of Europeans as a worthy aspiration.

True Afrikan centered nationbuilders are not concerned with doing anything to assist the development of any other people except through providing the best model of humanity possible for them through being Afrikan nationalists. They work to build a global Afrikan nation. True Afrikan centered nationbuilders know that family/race is first, that our children should be fed before anyone else's. Their primary concern is with the self-determining empowerment of our children, not with expending this rare and needed energy on making Europeans human. Adult Afrikan warrior scholars know that our children can never be Afrikan in any European dominated or influenced mental, physical or spiritual space. They know the intent of wolves.

This post has so much power it should be used as the basis for a class on parenting. My Queen/Wife and I have discussed this on many occasions and are planning the creation in the not so distant future of a cultural center that is Pan-Afrikan in nature that provides lessons and life studies for the children but as a natural outgrowth our families as well. We believe this provided with a base in spirituality (Pan-Afrikan) of course is what will liberate us.

It is painful that, in too many cases, the Afrikan youth around whom i find myself daily are absolutely oblivious to liberation ritual and philosophy. Their prime intent to further assimilate goes unchallenged because there seems to be very, very, very few enlightened teachers within the system to encourage them to turn the ships back. In 15 years of subbing, i have only met a literal handful of Afrikan youth (3 females, 2 males, to be exact) who were familiar with my messages. Just a handful.
i onced sub for 2 NOI sisters whose students had no idea of what i was attempting to dialogue with them about! They were clueless even with an enlightened teacher before them every day!!!!!!! Actually, after asking me about my Afrikan name, which i told them i had chosen over my slave name which was not chosen but forced on me, like theirs was forced on them), her students, after she surprisingly returned to the class to grab some personal items so she could leave for the day) mentioned to her what we were all discussing. Apparently, she was so upset (perhaps she was afraid i would stir them to revolt?) that she quickly told the white Administrastor who, after having angrily called me to his office over the PA system, promptly, and with a pig-red face, told me never to come back (he'd been after me since i had shown (3 years earlier while in the same school on a long-term assignment) a briedf excerpt Minister Farrakhan's MMM speech during which he spent 15 minutes talking about white supremacy and it negative impact on the Afrikan mind. (Remember? The part when he said, and i paraphrase, "The idea that you think you are superior to us because your skin is white, makes you sick!") Lol! On the chalk board, i had tons of prep information breaking down his message, and had particular instructions for the students to pay more attention to the Minister's MESSAGE than his religion, so the school would not think i was "pushing Islam," something i was wrongly accussed of doing at a local highschool almost a year earlier...
Too many Afrikan youth believe i am the only one in the hood who thinks and lives the way i think and live, and this is because, in western culture, people do and think ONLY what is POPULAR, and proudly claiming/living our heritage is NOT popular. Needless to say, i am definitely not the only one, but must be the only VISIBILE one, which has led me in the past to declare that visibility is revolution (see posts from 3 years back). Of course, when heritage-seeking does become popular, it risks becoming superficial (think Spike's X-craze in early 90's).
As Baruti says, we have no "solid national social structure," so much of what i say unfortunately lacks credibility in their eyes: if they don't see other concrete manifestations of what i propose for them to strive towards, then, while it may be illuminating and mind/fist-clenching during class, when the bell rings to end the school, it all goes up in smoke after having lingered until they get back to their hoods...

It is a reactive label, with little form and no substance. Many in this peripheralized group still see working toward subintegration as befitting an Afrikan centered label. As their predecessors among a number of the so-called radicals of the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements, these individuals "fight" against Europeans only to force them to accept them into their ranks, homes and hearts. In the end, success is still measured by white approval, white trinkets, white affiliations, white realities. They fight for independence only as a last resort, and an undesirable last resort at that. For them, being Afrikan centered is no more than a scare tactic, a tool to subintegratively leverage themselves into the arms of white power. For this group, being "Afrikan centered" is no more than a defensive label of convenience to keep them from being seen as completely vanquished.

These Afrikans are not nationbuilders, at least not Afrikan nationbuilders. True Afrikan centered nationbuilders do not see Europeans as omnipotent people who will share some of their power with us if we just love them enough. They do not grovel for the crumbs of validation from Europeans. They do not see being the faded shadows of Europeans as a worthy aspiration.

True Afrikan centered nationbuilders are not concerned with doing anything to assist the development of any other people except through providing the best model of humanity possible for them through being Afrikan nationalists. They work to build a global Afrikan nation. True Afrikan centered nationbuilders know that family/race is first, that our children should be fed before anyone else's. Their primary concern is with the self-determining empowerment of our children, not with expending this rare and needed energy on making Europeans human. Adult Afrikan warrior scholars know that our children can never be Afrikan in any European dominated or influenced mental, physical or spiritual space. They know the intent of wolves.
