How about we join together with our group and yours.....
Themindkitchen.ning.com
We have a book list we are reading and "Breaking the Curse of Willie Lynch" is the next book on our list.
That's my book suggestion and proposal

Medase pa, Brother Jaboom. That sounds to me like a fine idea, and a good title selection. In fact, that book has been sitting in my virtual cart for at least a couple of months now. I would however like to allow folk here free choice on which title to read. Glad to add your suggestion to the list/poll.
Now unless members of the Mind Kitchen are willing to post to the discussion here, I'm not sure how the combining of efforts would happen. But they are certainly welcome to join us here. Asante sana.

I'm for the idea of there being many "work-study circles" (please excuse my use of A-APRP terminology here to discribe this discussion group) but I believe each work study circle should be a small collective. In other words, I'm not really for the idea of joining the two seperate groups together. I can't talk though, because really, my hands are full and I don't know yet if I can commit to the discussion group. I'm just throwing some ideas around coming from my 5 years and 10 months of organizational experience.

When addressing the Lynch complex its important to consider what has been accepted by the majority of Afrikans in America. Some of us aren't ready to let go of the lifestyle that comes with being involved with America. So I do agree with you when it comes to reading any works that discuss the influence of Willie Lynch in our everyday lives and seek to irradicate it. All in all I'm with you.

I voted for Assata: An Autobiography because I think it's a good jumping off point considering the location of the discussion. I am not sure how much I'll be able to lend to discussion because of my schedule currently but I love the idea. You might even consider setting up a time to chat about the books on the list.
"Oh Africa! When shall be the term of thy long degradation? Behold here, even now, I pledge thee, O my Mother, that I shall devote my years to thee, shall work for thy redemption, shall love thee and be proud of thee and glory in thy power now lying dormant and shall strive to bring it to the light. Take my youth, my labors, my love, my all and do thou when I shall have died for thee, take me to thy bosom, an untamed, untamable African." -Hubert Harrison

I see what you all are saying, The point behind the group is to bring new thinkers with others who have had their eye's open for sometime; but I will see who can make the time to post here.
Peace

Asante sana Baba Ahmed, for your input. The title is actually "Breaking the Curse of Willie Lynch," but my fingers wanted to type "neck" instead. The curse is what must be broken, since that is what we are actually contending with today. The curse is undeniable.
Again, medase for your input, and please join us with the readings if you can find a way to carve it into your schedule.
