African Origins of Major "Western Religions" Paperback by Yosef A. A. Ben-Jochannan
"If the enemy is not doing anything against you, you are not doing anything"
-Ahmed Sékou Touré
"speak truth, do justice, be kind and do not do evil."
-Baba Orunmila
"Cowardice asks the question: is it safe? Expediency asks the question: is it political? Vanity asks the question: is it popular? But conscience asks the question: is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor political, nor popular - but one must take it simply because it is right."
--Dr. Martin L. King
Screw the books...get some Ashra Kwesi videos. Even if you have to save up and get them all piecemeal (even if it takes you all your life). http://kemetnu.com/

Though I have no doubt you will get a lot from the books presented in this thread, always remember there is really no such thing as THE book, or the MOST essential book on any subject no matter how profound the book may be, for every scholar or author not only is gathering their information from their unique scholarly view of a subject and may approach a subject from a unique perspective, but they also are compiling their scholarship from other profound works.
A subject like this one, is so broad and in-depth that it takes some study to have a well rounded understanding, and possibly a number of books to fully appreciate the connections between all these religions and Africa, be those books directly or indirectly relate to every aspect of African religious history, or the related non-African religions mentioned, so always keep you eyes open for any good scholarly books on any part of this subject.
