I read it as well, just last month in fact. It's excellent, he has a superb sense of humor for a revolutionary, and I think it's sort of George Jackson 101, an easier, more stripped down intro to the sorts of ideas George Jackson delves much deeper into with much more complexity in his works 'Blood in My Eye' and 'Soledad Brother.' It stands on its own excellently in terms of putting down theory throughout the book and I learned a great deal reading this book even after I had been through the works of George Jackson. The style is very conversational/ colloqial and the content very historical. If Rap/ Al-Amin didn't dedicate his life to revolution, he might have been the next Richord Pryor/Dick Gregory or even a superb rapper (he lyrically raps in the book!). I love this book! One of my favorites. Glad you'll be reading it.
I tell some of my revolutionary brothers to start with 'Die Nigger Die' or even 'Assata' before getting into George Jackson, who in my opinion is one of the greatest revolutionaries and political theorists of all time and the type of human being a revolutionary looks like at fullest development.
In my opinion I wish Jamil Al-Amin had always stayed like H. Rap Brown in his life, whether he changed his name or converted to Islam or not. He dropped a lot of his revolutionary ideology and started saying 'Allah' this and 'Allah' that about everything later in his life. Yet they still caught up with him and locked him up, way later (2000)! But for me I admire and wish to be like the H. Rap Brown of the late 1960's, the H. Rap Brown of SNCC, the H. Rap Brown with guns and a wicked mouth, who raps hard. The spirit of 'Die Nigger Die' is in my bones! Ain't supposed to die a natural death if you a black man! Pick up guns or pack up for the concentration camps!

I read the book twelve years ago, ironically it was out of print and was very difficult to get a hold of. H Rap Brown said in his book that true revolutionaries (speaking on Malcolm) belong not just to their family, but to the people. Amazingly enough many books from former panthers came back in print because of the popularity of the movie 'Panther' (this list includes Die Nigger Die, Stokely Speaks, Revolutionary Suicide, Soledad Brother and Soul on Ice) e.g.
