Stuck In Transition...

I pose in the mirror, what a beautiful African queen...
Kinky hair and brown skin, eyes so powerful that they glisten and gleam
in the dark pupils, lie a reflection of my soul and I glance in amazement
and in that same instance, a voice inside my head speaks
I turn on my radio full blast and if that doesnt work the tv next
I fumble around hopelessly looking for my phone, wondering who I can text
Nothing works, the utterance gets louder, till eventually
I cave in and decide to pray to my non-existent God, ask for him to spiritually
GUIDE ME
but nothing changes, the statements they just keep coming
I know better but stupid is as stupid does, I stop, I listen
You are an abomination it says, in a familiar tone
you're physically and mentally scarred...destined to be alone!
And as the tears trickle down my cheek, I begin to ponder
Never have I been that beautiful butterfly
yet I have journeyed so far, I can't be a caterpillar
My roots are alive yet the flowers are dead
Which means I live in the past and never know what is ahead
I see the sun in a distance, whilst the clouds draw near
and as sad as ever, the rainbow is always to my rear
NOT FINISHED, BUT TO BE HONEST I DONT THINK IT EVER WILL BE!

Walking alone in the dark!!!
