Reaction-ism & Laziness

I was having a conversation with my friend last night and he was telling me about how many of the people he knew feel like it was simply ok to just give monies to a cause and feel good about that alone. He mentioned what ever happen to rolling your sleeves up and getting dirty. I agree with that statement, what ever happen to rolling your sleeves up and getting dirty? We may (or may not) send monies to Haiti but we won't put the effort into going to the store and getting supplies then going to the post office and sending supplies nor will we put the efforts into collecting supplies. We don't want to do the physical work required. Some of us won't lift a finger to do anything but have no problem pointing the finger and lifting a finger to type a complaint. I never understood when complaining about a problem was revolutionary? Thought without action is empty!
My second example being action alerts (keyword: action) we will rotate an email around 100 times hoping someone else will write a letter or give monies or send supplies instead of acting on an issue. We so damn lazy we can't even write a letter. We won't do a got damn thing but hope others do the work we should be doing ourselves. Some of us have become professional reacters. When the enemy puts a problem in front of you, you immediately jump into reaction mode, too often this means no action mode, and get off on knowing your dislike for the enemy is validated. For some this validation and excitement is enough (zero action), but for others this excitement is then followed up by a facebook message or ning announcement or email yet in all the excitement the sender never actually participated in what was being asked for in the communication. This must stop! This is actually what the enemy wants you to do! The enemy wants you to be lazy, he wants you to react, he wants you to get off every time your hate is validation. As long as we doing those things we'll never get any work done.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with sending an email or monies but at some point we must do physical work, plain and simple.
