Homeland security officials opting out


Lured by high salaries and generous perks, many members of the Bush administration's homeland security team are quitting their government posts for private sector jobs in the security business.

The New York Times reported Sunday that dozens of members of President Bush's security team assembled after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, are now working for companies that sell security products and services to the government agencies they once helped manage.

"People have a right to make a living," Clark Kent Ervin, the former inspector general of the Homeland Security Department told the newspaper. "But working virtually immediately for a company that is bidding for work in an area where you were just setting the policy _that is too close. It is almost incestuous."

The Times found that at least 90 former officials in the department and the White House Office of Homeland Security now work for companies that do billions of dollars worth of business in the homeland security industry.

Loopholes in federal law make it easy for former bureaucrats to quickly capitalize on their government work.

This is common practice and the same thing happen vica-versa with high level management going to gov jobs. Don't believe me check out politicans and there resumes. Also a good amount of the security for ameriKKKa is not government at all it is ran by the private sector.

I believe you and know your comment to be a fact. What is surprising me now why all of a sudden they are acting as if this is big news, when it happens across the board in any big business or agency that has any type of contract or dealings with the government.

It is a big game and the powers that be puts a blind eye to the situation. When its too late then they want to try and do something about it. Either way all these kkkrackkkas are getting paid big bucks.

It's their world and they make the best of making sure they are always on the receiving end of the big checks. Homeland security is only as secure as the next higgest bidder who wants to know what the ins and outs of the security information is in the government.

Very well said sister and right on point. You can never continue to put the wolves and foxes to guard the hen house and expect different results. It would always be the same result.

All these politicians and government officials are dirty stinking thieves who can care less about people. All they care about is keeping their pockets stuffed with money they have swindled time and time again from innocent people.
