Any aspiring or published playwrights out there that might be
interested in this news? In Fall 2006, Hattiloo Theatre will open
in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, and wishes to produce Black plays
and Black adaptations of western classics (such as "The Odd Couple").

When I lived in Minneapolis, I remember seeing "WARP" at the Mixed
Blood Theatre (http://www.mixedblood.com/about.html) in the West
Bank District near the University of Minnesota. WARP is a
theatrical, science fiction trilogy, authored by Stuart Gordon and
Bury St. Edmund, which has also played at the Organic Theatre in the
Chicago area. Yes, that is the Stuart Gordon of "Reanimator" fame
(see http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/contri...800058463/bio).
This might be another good venue to show this play, which to my
knowledge has never been producted in the South.

Naturally, Hattiloo is looking for financial benefactors as well ...
