Myth or Prophesy? : The Impact & Reality of Dwindling World Fossil Fuel Reserves The Institutes of Positive Education Betty Shabazz International Charter School at 7825 South Ellis will host for the first time ever, an African American Community Forum addressing the energy challenges we have before us and possible solutions to mitigate the detrimental impact of rising costs & challenges due to diminishing supplies of petroleum & natural gas. Fredrick D. Carter, a former transportation executive and co-founder of Black Oaks Center for Sustainable Renewable Living will present the hard core facts of world peak oil and natural gas as well as its ramifications. The forum will feature a premier showing of the documentary: “The Power of Community-How Cuba Survived Peak Oil” Dr Jifunza Wright-Carter holistic physician, wife and co-founder of Black Oaks Center for Sustainable Renewable Living will facilitate a question/answer and collective brain storming for solutions & strategies to collectively ensure that our community is prepared to survive these times and successfully transition into post carbon living.
