African Festival of the Arts!!

The Africa Channel will be a Media Partner and have a booth at the 2007 African Festival of the Arts in Chicago is taking place THIS WEEKEND, August 31- September 3, 2007!



Come down to Washington Park in Chicago and celebrate the African Diaspora.

The festival will include three stages of Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop and World Music with artists from all over the U.S. and world. Live performance on the main stage will include Hugh Masekela Sunday 9/2 @ 5p and Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars Monday 9/3 @ 5p.



Festival goers can learn African dance and drumming techniques in the special interest pavilions. Hear African travelers share their first encounters with Americans in African and with Africans in America at the African Heritage Pavilion. Celebrate African films at the Ice Theatre. Shop for Authentic African goods at the marketplace and eat African cuisines at a number of the vendors that will be present.



Visit The Africa Channel booth for literature, giveaways and raffle prizes. Celebrate the Labor Day Weekend African Style!
