Loyola University has invited Attorney General Lisa Madigan to speak. The email announcement about the event says
she has "dedicated the resources of her office to protect the people and communities of Illinois". Apparently, this
protection does not extend to victims of torture under former Chicago police commander Jon Burge.

Madigan's office was appointed to oversee prosecution of victims of police torture in 2002. She has the power to go
to a judge and ask for evidentiary hearings so that dozens of incarcerated men can present evidence that they had
"confessions" extracted through such methods as beatings, mock executions, electroshock to the ears and genitals,
and suffocation. Yet Madigan has failed to initiate hearings for any of these men despite numerous requests from
activists and attorneys, and a 2007 Cook County Board resolution calling on her to do just that.

Come picket Lisa Madigan to demand that she work with us for new trials for all police torture victims.
