Important and somewhat urgent

As I am working with The Lawndale Neighborhood Organization we are attempting to challenge CPS about the cuts and changes that are being made. We know that Arne Douncan CeO of the Board of Education says that the cuts are across the whole city, howeve we find that our communitie are facing the most cuts and school closings. We are organinig and planning a massive demonstration on the 27 of June. So this is for all Parents with children in the public school system in Chicago. Mayor Daley wants to put and end to the LSCs Local School Council which consist of parents people from the community and teachers The LSC has the right to hire and fire principals and approve school budjets and make improvements as they see fit Mayor Daley has a problem with this but not just him this stems down from the United Nations they no longer want us to have any say so concerning our children and if the can shut down Orgs such as LSCs and Organizations as such they can continue to force feed our children there agenda I ask that you share this with everyone you know with children whether they be in CPS or not, However I would like to hear from Chicago Parents with Children in the CPS Peace Ifayekunu

Greetings, I am also interested in the future of Lawndale. It is changing so quickly. My concern is who it is changing so quickly for? As a longtime community member I have seen Lawndale change over the years. Most of the changes have not been for the better. Where's Chandler? What has he done to strengthen his ward? I hear that there is a group of black men, who all live in Lawndale, who are also fed up. I believe they call themselves MBL Men For A Better Lawndale. I am looking for information about this organization. I want to partner with a group that has courage and understand the power of the ballot and are not afraid to hit the streets.

Lawndale's history is black, white and technicolor. It's future is not known. I only hope that brothers and sisters do not allow it to be dictated nor written by those whose only motives are profit and gentrification.

PEACE
