I love the boondocks. I think the cartoon has a way of telling a deeper reality while at the same time holding on to a general audience and being hilarious. I loved the episode when Uncle Rukus died and went to white heaven. Uncle Rukus outwardly displayed the subconcious way in which many black preachers worship white Jesus and hold whites closer on the spiritual pyramid to God. It showed how ignorant and disastrous such a mind state is as it ultimately lead to the audience at the end fighting amongst each other trying to "slap the black" out of each other in an attempt to synonomously "slap the sin" out of each other. You also notice how whites in the audience where also slaping blacks which showed how religion is used as fuel for white "christians" to justify their racist ideology. I can understand the general complaint of the cartoon but just like the books I read I am someone who gets his message from between the lines and not so much from the lines itself.

Ive definitely changed my mind since then I thought it was degrading cause the "N" word was flying around that joint like a bird, but I get what Aaron Mcgruder is doing...tools to make us think

I Personally Enjoy The Show And Understand The Tools That Mcgruder Chooses To Use, In Order To Give Us A New Insight Into Old Issues.

Riley, Is Awesome. Huey, Is His Brother So He Brings A Balance To Riley. Imagine That! Everyone Plays Their Role In The Show And It Is Up To Us To Use Our Minds.

As Far As The Word Ngh...it's Whatever! My Opinion On That Word Varies For Many Different Reasons.
      Peace!

2nd season has been disappointing. Grandpa was semi-conscious on season 1 bu t has turned into a porch monkey now. Also, Huey is almost non-existent.

My thoughts exactly. There's no depth this season, nothing to think about. If there is one more episode about internet dating I might have to give it up.
"Oh Africa! When shall be the term of thy long degradation? Behold here, even now, I pledge thee, O my Mother, that I shall devote my years to thee, shall work for thy redemption, shall love thee and be proud of thee and glory in thy power now lying dormant and shall strive to bring it to the light. Take my youth, my labors, my love, my all and do thou when I shall have died for thee, take me to thy bosom, an untamed, untamable African." -Hubert Harrison

Is Mr. McGruder still directly involved with the production, and writing of the new season?

As far as I can tell, he is still involved with the writing and production of the new season.

I thought that tonight's episode was funny, especially the part when Huey was asking what Riley would do to keep his chain.

I think that there are a lot of little gems and nuances in this season so far (still gets me thinking), and I have a feeling that we are going to see more of Huey in the second half of the season.

They need to Huey to play a bigger role in the show...this season looks like boofoonery. Ruckus character is drifting from sarcasm to just plain insulting in my opinion. I don't like this season too much.

      I like it.

Second season seems to be less political then the first but I like how it focuses a bit on what's wrong in our community. You gotta be aware of your own problems before you confront your enemies. Can't sail out against the enemy in a boat made from rotten wood after all.

I liked how in the first episode when Huey said "Jesus was Black, Ronald Reagan was the Devil and the gov is lying aobut 9/11" he expected the rich whiteys to go into a riot but instead they just went "awww, look at the cute little monkey" which shows how for now dey aren't willing to take the upcoming Revolution seriously.
