"We must continue to move forward and do everything we can to outlaw legal lynching in America. We must continue to stand together in unity and to demand a moratorium on all executions. You must stay strong. You must continue to hold your heads up, and to be there. We will prevail. Keep marching Black people. They are killing me tonight. They are murdering me tonight." -- Excerpts of Last Words of Bro. Shaka Sankofa, an innocent man executed by the state of Texas, 6/22/00. www.myspace.com/nattyreb7

No Sis' this is not repost, this is hot news as far as I'm concerned!

Kweli is one of the illest MC ever! Him & Dante have literally broadened my perspectives, along with Dead Prez! They've reconciled me with 'modern' rap music when I used to boycott it.
Hip-hop and muzik in general are such powerful means to convey ideas & message despite boundaries, seeing other brothers & sisters wasting & polluting the minds drives me crazy.

Everybody respects Kweli, even the phony !ss rappers he criticizes in his lyrics, how funny!

And no matter what game they play
We got something they could never take away
And it's the fire (fire), it's the fire (fire)
      That's burning down everything
Feel that fire (fire), the fire (fire)
No water could put out this fire (fire)

But we are young and Black, fearless and free...

I love him! I love his energy. And I remember exactly where I was when I heard "Get By" for the first time. I hope this project materializes also.
"Oh Africa! When shall be the term of thy long degradation? Behold here, even now, I pledge thee, O my Mother, that I shall devote my years to thee, shall work for thy redemption, shall love thee and be proud of thee and glory in thy power now lying dormant and shall strive to bring it to the light. Take my youth, my labors, my love, my all and do thou when I shall have died for thee, take me to thy bosom, an untamed, untamable African." -Hubert Harrison

      The BKMCEO!

Talib Kweli! He's most definitely in my top 10 list of great MC's.

I liked how he got those wankers for bootlegging Kanye West t-shirts. Lol, that was classic.

I can't wait for this to drop!

Some people take themselves WAY TOO SERIOUSLY, when in actuality, no one else is really taking them as seriously as they think.

There is something so special about this Bro., you can even hear Mos Def's voice crack when he talks about him, now that is really saying something when a Bro. feels that so strongly coming from his brother-man. You (well i betta just stick to myself) have to listen to his songs at least twice to even grasp half of what he said.

"Get By" was one of my best driving to work songs, cuz i hated that damn job so much. i could go in there with my chest puffed up and a smile on my face like i had a secret nobody else knew about!
