Mothers for Africa has just the opportunity if you are in the medical field, you can volunteer to travel with us on trips, if you are a construction worker you can volunteer to build, we always need translators, skilled clerical workers, grant writers, people skilled in the art of fundraising and people in the media or entertainment industry.

      In March of 2012 we will travel to Ghana with high school juniors and seniors to participate in a 10 day student exchange program. They will attend school with Ghanaian youth with an extra curriculum course in International Trade and Commerce. A field that few are familiar with that can help empower our communities while empowering the community were you trade. In November of 2010 we will start the interviewing and selection process for this trip. We are only excepting youth from the Altadena, Pasadena and Los Angeles California areas to participate in this program

      If they are going to be talking about international trade and commerce, they can't leave out discussing the importance of the panama canal and colon free trade zone (2nd largest ftz in the world) for our people!

      Note: Up until two years ago (under the martin torrijos administration, the cftz was headed by a black panamanian sister. She was always asking me where were all the afrikan business people, since they are clearly absent in the free zone. We are not doing global business and trade, with each other, nor with the world, in general.

      That's a damn shame! We are working to change that situation!
