What do yall think of Saul Williams? In my perspective,This brotha is an overwhelming inspiration to our diaspora because of the power & depth of his intellect.

I agree. He's one of the most prolific hip-hop/spoken word/rock artists of our generation.

I'd love to see him live one day.

      Peace and love.

Raha my brother n dem went to see the show in SF and they said it was boiling over with ...the ones we dont speak of lol.

Other than that ....I just love Saul. I almost had to serve Moorish Rebel a beat down in the record store for grabbing the last Amethyst Rock Star, but I ended up taking it and it was well worth it. If anyone hasnt heard it yet its def. worth picking up.

I have heard such great reviews on The Dead Emcee Scrolls. So I'm looking forward to hearing everyones reviews of it.

Dead Emcee Scrolls is almost like a compilation. I'm sitting there reading it and it has all his old good stuff, Amethyst Rock Star is in there, the piece he did in Slam is in there, I think the piece he did on Def Poetry Jam is in there as well.

      line of the book though:
"if you aint hotep then ho step!"

You mean them saltine people? Lol

Saul Williams is one of my biggest influences in terms of thinking outside the box, within the box, BEING the box when it comes to my poetics. His music is the same way, and that's the kind of approach I take when I make my music.

I don't think that he'll be FULLY appreciated until after he is gone, though; it usually happens to great artists like himself.

I had the pleasure of meeting Saul Williams personally in the record store. Real down-to-earth brother. I think he's the best poet of our generation. I've been playing "Tao of Now", "Om Nia Merican" and "1987" alot lately.

Plus on that same day, I happen to run into Boost Riley. He was there promoting his album "Pick A Bigger Weapon" which is how I ended up buying the album. Any emcee who goes to a record store to promote his own shit gets major respect from me.

P.S, Nes don't get it twisted sis. You know I gave you the album out of the kindness of my heart...trying to show off..lol
