Danger Mouse teams up with Black Thought

Which will it be? DangerThought or BlackMouse?

Producer Danger Mouse, known for his notable duets with MF Doom and Cee-Lo, is now teaming up with the Roots’ front man Black Thought for an upcoming project.

“We’re in the middle of working on some material right now,” Black Thought recently said. “We got together a few months ago, before the whole Gnarls Barkley thing took off the way it did. So I’m not sure of how that’s gonna affect our project, but it’s still in the works.”

Danger Mouse first gained recognition for 2004’s “The Grey Album,” a remix LP which blended Jay-Z’s “The Black Album” with reworked Beatles tunes. Since then he has recorded alter ego projects with several artists including MF Doom (DangerDoom), and more recently Cee-Lo of the Goodie Mob (Gnarls Barkley).

According to Black Thought, their untitled project is still being developed. “You can never call it with Danger Mouse,” said the Philadelphia rapper. “I would call it a meeting of the minds. It would not be like me, Black Thought from the Roots, and Danger Mouse the producer – it’s us taking on two personas.”

“I guess you get the gist of what he’s doing with the Gnarls Barkley and with the Doom record. It’s nothing like those two records, but in the same realm. We don’t have a working title, we don’t even have titles for the songs. It's very much a work in progress, but I'm feeling what it is.”

In related news, the Roots recently wrapped up their two-day concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, which served as a precursor for their forthcoming Def Jam Left album, Game Theory, due out in late summer.

Some people take themselves WAY TOO SERIOUSLY, when in actuality, no one else is really taking them as seriously as they think.

      Lol, true.

It'll be a while though, especially considering how big Gnarls Barkley is right now. With The Roots putting out Game Theory later this summer, the wait might be even longer.
