Atlanta Singer Ne-Yo Busted In Cobb
MARIETTA, Ga. -- Authorities say Grammy winner Ne-Yo has been charged with reckless driving in suburban Atlanta.
Cobb County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Nancy Bodiford says the singer, whose real name is Shaffer C. Smith, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with reckless driving and driving without a license.
Cobb County police spokeswoman Cassie Reece says Smith was driving at speeds that exceeded 100 mph.
Bodiford says the 28-year-old Smith, who has a residence in Atlanta, was released the same day from the county jail on a $1,300 bond. His state court case is scheduled for March 25.
He won a Grammy this year for Best Contemporary R&B Album titled "Because of You."
