Buddy Miles, one of my musical heroes since middle-school, has past away AT AGE 60.
I listen various types of music depending on the mood I'm in at that moment (even country and classical). However, Funk ("Black-Rock", as it was called in the early 70's, also known as "Blue-Eyed Soul' back then whenever the music was performed my White-artists) was always my favorite. Therefore, I'm sure I don't have tell how much the Brother influenced me.
Here he is with another legend of the musical-world, Jimi Hendrix
Here he is with Bootsy Collins (I dunno who the other guy is)
This is one of his classic joints, a live performance collaboration he did wit the great Carlos Santana back in the day.
The classic live joint he did with Jimi.
THEM CHANGES with Carlos Santana, this clip shows that not only was he an excellent drummer but he could also rock the guitar too!!!
And one of his greatest songs, DOWN BY THE RIVER
