The one and only Bro. Gil, i got sooo much love for this bro., my first apt. was plastered with his photos (even one a Sista snatched off a bus in Austria for me!). i was real mad when he married Brenda Sykes, too, he was supposed to wait for me . One of our most undercounted revolutionary lyrical and musical geniuses, "Scarecrow," i would like to say often-imitated but never duplicated, but certainly not imitated nearly enough nowadays. He just turned 56, April 1st. Let's hope he can one day kick his demons' asses so he can live to see many, many more.

FYI, Brian Jackson has a site at www.brianjacksonmusic.com, check it! And thanks so much for this thread, now the young folks know what's up!!

Talk The Talk, Walk The Walk
      Greetings of Afrikan Love Family,

I am Joanie, a RE~covering AFrikan amerikkkan and RE~presentative from the Voices in the Margins.

I often think: "The Revolution will not Be televised" BE~cause the Re~volution will happen within US, OUR communities, OUR interactions with each other.

That is, WE will BE~gin to Love each other. WE will demonstrate this LOve by the things WE DO and SAYto each other.

WE will BE~gin to *help* each other out of the private hells WE re~main trapped in.

WE will BE~gin to practice what WE preach and teach.

I am the first to admit my shortcomings, my BE~havioral manifestations re~sulting from the MAAFA and ask for help to overcome them.

The Creator helps me by sending me U!.

Help me help myself and I can and will DO the same for you.

Akpe for allowing me to share

HOW? No, never attended a 'workshop" by that title or purpose. Have attended *meetings* with a purpose of "How". How to stay 'clean'.

      What are re~ferring to?

You could also share with me which language "Karibu tena" is for Thank you(?) or, I could search the threads and find it.
