Nas pays $2 million for a beat

      By WENN

Rap star Nas has reportedly paid a staggering $2 million for a mystery new beat created by hip hop producers The Neptunes.

A number of artists were reported to be in competition for the beat, including Sean 'P Diddy' Combs.

It's so groundbreaking, rap veteran Busta Rhymes is convinced it will make hip hop history.

He says,"Those drums man. Those drums are fire! If Nas is gonna rap to this beat, it's going to be over. This will be the biggest hit in the history of hip hop."

Nas pays 2 mil for beat?

Nas has reportedly been in the lab working on his new album reportedly titled Nasdaq Dow Jones and is currently searching for production for what many say is one of his most important albums. While creating this album, Nas came across a beat so fantastic to him that he reportedly paid 2 million dollars for the track. And just who produced this track? The Neptunes.

It has been rumored that Nas had to ward off the deep pockets of Sean "P Diddy" Combs in a heated bidding war. Can the beat really be that good? Well word is that Busta Rhymes has been quoted stating...

"Ah shit, thats the craziest beat, I ever heard! Those drums man, Those drums are fire! If Nas is gonna rap to this beat, its going to be over. This will be the biggest hit in the history of hiphop!"

While that can be a bit of an overstatement, one has to wonder what this rumored beat sounds like. In the meanwhile, Nas is gearing up for a handful of club performances beginning July 14th in Chicago.

I do think he is one of the best lyricist that we have heard on commercial radio, can he pull it off. No disrespect to the GODMAN but if the beat can make Busta lose his mind then Nas had better come with it.

I am an old B-Boy so Nas please do the history of Hip Hop correct.

L.L already claimed the concept of Greatest of all time, I think a hip hop deity named Rakim Allah may have something to say with that.

I think Nasir has already made Hip-Hop history in many ways, but i'm not sure a $2 mill track is gonna cement his legacy any further. Until some of these "Hip-Hop" elites start inviting dead prez or Saigon on thier joints, I can't really support a spineless revolution on wax. UHURU

nas could of have took that 2 mil and open a daycare in the community or a school or hospital or maybe even a small bank or something instead of spending it on a beat.
