I thanked everyone in this post for two reason.
I can agree and disagree with every statement made here.
I can see every point both ways and I can give my opposing opinion like wise.
That being said point blank whether we see him as black, mixed, hero, Tom, or just some one doing his job. The world sees this man as black. His image will reflect on us whether we want it too or not. For the first time in sometime a black man is feared and respect on something other than stereotypical "street cred" Or being the "H.N.I.C."
Obama has many flaws and many good qualities, the best quality is the fact that his name, face and positions are getting a lot of people politically aware. He may be a big figure head in black face. He made be the hope of the sleeping created by a system that wants to put us into a further coma state.
But I can say this I have never seen my people more excited about world wide change.
People I have know who haven't been about SHIT are not just out ready to vote but they are getting their minds right because they have a real person to look at as being some one to be like. Not a Jordan or 50 but some one that has a position that can make things happen for himself and for others without selling dope or ignorance.
(Not saying that everything will change because of one man)
But it does help that this one man is being seen as some one worthy of looking up to by young kids. This is a question I asked myself while reading all the comments here and assessing my own views.
"Who would I rather have my child look up to, another entertainer or athlete or some one with political power?"
I hate that this man is trying to play into the system but at least he isn't acting as if "ballin, bitches and niggas" is what black is all about.
......I'll just stand at the ready in defense of a black person........than stand against him because we don't agree on some issues.
