this is sad on so many levels, but dude was obviously a dumb ass thug and not someone who actually cared about black people or his community. The way the cops reacted after the shooting was kinda foul but I can't say I wouldn't have did the same thing if someone was threatening me and I feared for the safety of my peers.


I'm well aware that cops have a history of being racist assholes but this dude brought it all on himself and we shouldn't really care. I'm offended that this was posted on this site as if we should be outraged by what happened in the video. The guy said he was on the run for MURDER, 9 times out of 10 the guy he killed was also black.


He was an idiot and fucked up shit happens to idiotic people. It doesn't pay to be dumb anymore. No one should feel sorry for this fool. I won't mourn him at all, the black community needs more Malcolms and less Deandres (and as Dr. Khalid Muhammad & Farrakhan used to say when we have our own nation, we're going to punish traitors who terrorize our communities like that anyway....so the cops did us a favor)

Okay I googled his name.

Deandre Brunston, a 24 year old male, (nicknamed "Trey"), residing in Compton, Los Angeles County, California, in the United States of America, was shot and killed August 24, 2003, during a standoff with Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies while resisting arrest for an alleged domestic abuse incident. After attempting to evade the police, Brunston ended up cornered on someone's doorsteps where he began taunting and negotiating with the police. He repeatedly told the officers he was wanted for murder (Deandre was not wanted for murder), would rather die right then and there than go back to prison, and that he had a gun in his hand and would use it to shoot the police dog (and the deputies) if the dog was released. However, he was in fact unarmed, only carrying a flip-flop shoe in his right hand, hidden under his T-shirt. Brunston repeatedly stated that he would throw his "gun" down and surrender if he were allowed to speak to his girlfriend Fonda Brown by phone, but his request was never granted.

Very sad situation but I stick by my comments. Human beings aren't natural born lie detectors and they can only process the information you give them. It would have helped his cause to just tell the truth. Why intentionally dig yourself in a hole?

Number one, I see your point, but see, the first difference its you are not a cop, cops are supposed to be TRAINED to manage many type of situations suppoudsly trained to use violence as the last resource and always try to minimize harm. Also, they are being PAID by you to do this. We are too used to see how police ignore this again and again, but that dont mean the law and the rules are not there.
i will say more, even if they find themselves in REAL danger and have NO other choice and shoot. they MUST facilitate MEDICAL ATTENTION to the injured! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING justifies leaving him alone to die in the concrete!!!!

number two, even if we are talking about a very evil person, everybody deserves judgement, and nobody should be killed "just because".
Especially cause, number three, this young man was not even wanted for murder AT ALL (u can google his name and find out more) and we should already know that, number four, youth and Black youth specifically, often engage in suicidal behavior, and this young man in the video is a perfect example of it. Suffering from suicidal behavior doesnt mean you derserve to be killed, it means something is wrong with you envioroment and you need help ASAP.

You see youth living under ghetto like envioroments dont think much about their future, cause they themselves have caught the message and assume they wont live to see their 40's. They dont plan, they dont save, they dont watch themselves and the consequences of their actions. They dont care.

Of course there are many points in this argument.

The police should in this situation had to take him down by force because he was just acting a damn fool........BUT THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL SOME ONE.
If anything some one should have went in on him or at least demand that he show his weapon.

"Trey" should have know not to incite any confrontation with a police department know for killing black people......But it is almost obvious that he had a death wish.

True, cops often abuse their authority but this was simply not the case here. I watched the entire video and I truly believed he had a gun and was ready to shoot. He made it clear that if the dog came near him he was shooting.

And this is just from from MY perspective, if someone was threatening to shoot my family and I ended up shooting them I'm not going to give a damn about the person who was doing the threatening. The situation was very foul but I can't say I wouldn't have behaved any differently.

He wasn't killed "just because", you obviously haven't seen the video he was sending death threats the entire time. And I agree with you there, I think this was indeed a suicide by cop. A sad situation and more reason why we shouldn't be pointing fingers at anyone. I've experienced suicidal behavior myself in the past but that alone shouldn't cause you to lose common sense. He knew that there was no turning back once he made those comments and he got exactly what he wanted.
