Feminism and the "freeing" of women to begin their journey towards "sexual independence" is what HAS taken away from the traditional concepts and outlook on establishing the nuclear family.

It became about WOMEN first, much to the chagrin of the family, the household, the husband/father, and even the children.

The movement in and of itself-- although sound in certain parts-- reveals a sort of eyebrow-raising mis-prioritization when taking a gander at it holistically, and how it incorporates into the rest of society, esp. concerning the family household.

This, at core, is not the essence of feminism. Feminism is the freedom for a woman to decide what SHE feels is right, circumstance nor the opinions of what others feel or believe women should do to help out society, not considered.

While what you say is admirable, many other feminist scholars do NOT and will not agree.

As far as critiquing your solutions-- the best way to avoid any man "disappearing" on you after pro-creation, is simply to STOP DOING it with any man except the one whom has pledged his life to you via marriage and wedding vows.

The financial "cushion" that is alimony and child support is there as established by the courts, as well as your reputation and conscious free as a good WIFE (not baby MAMA), good marriage partner, and good mother who did all she could to do the right thing, still intact.

Win-win for everybody except for the loser of a husband whom decided to leave.

But when looking at the divorce rates-- that^^ form of reality is less likely to be true seeing that men are MUCH much less likely to leave or divorce when married. Hence the importance of a man being MARRIED to you before you decide to have his kids, because it is a SURE-FIRE way of keeping him in check, and establishing balance. You will not achieve same said results the other way around (having OOW children before marriage). The likelihood of ANYONE divorcing inside of marriage will more than likely be the woman as it is something they commit to a rate 2/3rds the time.

When it comes to black men-- there simply are no excuses, we hold them to the HIGHEST standard and if they even THINK about breaking away from it we dont hesitate in in even THINKING about mincing our words. this is what has lead to a culture whom has taken admiration in single-mom households, shifty men with no responsibility and held to no accountability (other than fancy jewelry and tatoos with his shirt off or some expensive car) in which all are usually the product of one too many people having out-of-control sex like animals, in which people are too scared to intervene or say something about it. Therefore NOTHING gets done, and the situation gets WORST. Making what used to be very rare and embarrassing exceptions the now accepted norm. The fathers-- due to how their background in how they were raised in single-mom communities, never had any father around them in their lives, so see no need to be one, soon end up leaving, and if not are eventually pushed out by women who they themselves dont see the point in fatherhood or manhood, because they have never had one (or at the very least-- sterling examples of one) in their lives either.

and the child grows up in a broken home, with a mother constantly at work, no one watching over her child (and if he is a boy) turns to the streets to look for his "family", in which the peers that he finds are often in no better shape then he is.

Taking all of this into account, it isnt a wonder anymore about the crime rate often thrown at blacks with little to no outlook on the CAUSES of it. The latest studies have been shown linking a boy's not having a father or father-like figure, with his later own overcompensation in life to try to "prove" his manhood to make up for the fact that he has never had a real life example of what it is. Cue in the guns, drugs (for his own income independent of his mother-- boys learn young that this is very important towards establishing the first part towards feeling like a "man"), and the typical hip-hop-BET bravado, and voila!

There has never been a time in history in which black men have ever said black females should take a "back seat" to black males.
This is something completely made up by the black feminist in this nation.

as far as the "protecting and defending" part.

Two things. I've noticed this alot with alot of Afrocentric people like Seti, who like to use such uber-masculine words like "protect and defend" without taking things into REALISTIC context.

1.) Black men came here in CHAINS, as well as black females-- there was no protecting or defending coming from ANYBODY, other than white males protecting and defending THEIR interest.

Yes-- it is admirable that black men are trying to take some accountability for being the ones to protect and defend, but historically it also is unrealistic. Now if the sisters cannot underSTAND that, then it's time for them to go their separate ways and date white boys. we dont need any of that.

2.) even if we were to by-pass the slavery point and look at today and today only.

a.) as soon as slavery ended Jim Crow began-- in which the era between the rising of Boker T. Washington and Garvey's death-- black people did REMARKABLY well concerning almost every statistic of back then. in which the great majority of the FIRST black feminists called the men of back then on through the mid-20th century as some of the most ugly groups of black men to ever exist. and bypassed the achievements many black men made once slavery ended began analyzing why it was we didnt "rescue" black females from slavery to begin with. Brothers were still very much being bad-mouthed back then. nothing changed despite everything that could be showed.

b.) and even if black men were to get up and "provide and protect", due to the situation that Ive outlined in my response to anyansi that we were put in via gov't warfare, ll that would happen would be just another wide-spread feminist and cultural push-back from the women still. Ou hands are tied. Black women want it both ways. A group of men to "lead the way" and "provide and protect" them to freedom, yet only on THEIRtime, their watch and their say-so. Not taking into account that one woman's "time", "watch", or "say-so" differs from the next and so on. One issue one black female feels passionatley about may be an issue another feels passionately about going against. Black men, as these proposed leaders, do NOT have time to individually consult with each and every female to find out an issue that "good for them".
