WASHINGTON , DC . -- The All African People's Revolutionary Party (A-APRP) announced the 48th annual African Liberation Day (ALD). The following events will be hosted as part of ALD activities:

a) An International Symposium sponsored by the A-APRP, Azanian Peoples Organization and the Social Action and LeadershipSchool for Activists:

b) A Pan African Conference hosted by the A-APRP.

Saturday May 27, 2006 from 10am-3:00pm .

African Liberation Day provides a forum to hear the truth about the impact of the political struggle that are taking place the local and global and in Africa . ALD will feature national and international representatives from various governments, organizations and parties. It also offers ways in which people can become involved directly with organizations that are serving the people. Many important issues have been swept aside in recent months by the corporate press and media. It is important to recognize the valuable role which our local community news outlets and events such as ALD, continually provide in bringing us with the truth.

African Liberation Day seeks to address the various atrocities that affect our world-wide African Community such as: a) negative propaganda against the people of Zimbabwe and Cuba b) the overthrow of legitimate governments c) globalization and its effect on the world economic order d) control and distribution of rightful African resources e) the economic and political position of African people all around the world and f) world-wide African Unity.

African Liberation Day, held yearly around the world, is an institutionalized event which serves as a means of ongoing mass education, and organization of African people. The AAPRP invites you and your family to come to ALD and commemorate the struggle for justice, freedom and unity.

The International Symposium will feature representatives from the following organizations: Embassy of Zimbabwe* Embassy of Venezuela* Cuban Interests Section* Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers and more.

The Pan African Conference will host work-shops on the following topics: a) What is a Revolutionary b) Update on Worldwide Liberation Struggles and c) Revolutionary Culture vs. Reactionary Culture. A variety of cultural presentations, showcasing our rich African traditions, including African drummers, dancers, poets and more, will enliven the day's events.

We invite everyone out who in interested in liberating and unifying Africa , African people and humanity.
