"2008 Washington, DC Black Memorabilia, Art, Doll & Collectible Show"

The Greater Washington, DC Black Memorabilia, Art, Doll And Collectibles
Show & Sale will be held at the Washington, DC Convention Center, 801 Mount
Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC. The show hours are Friday, December 5th
from (7pm-10pm) and on Saturday, December 6th from (10am-7pm). Admission is
$8.00, and all children 12 years and under are admitted free.

There will be many vendors from across the United States with Black
memorabilia and collectibles for sale including political memorabilia, historical
artifacts & documents, art, books, stamps, paintings, prints, textiles,
autographs, toys, dolls, advertisements, photos, posters, sports & entertainment
memorabilia, postcards and much more.
There will be doll artists with Black Dolls & doll related materials, and
Black artists with original paintings & prints for sale.

There will be "exclusive" exhibits on the Original Black Panther Party;
Marcus Garvey; Black Indians/Cowboys & Buffalo Soldiers; Blacks In Hockey; The
African-American Roller Skating Archives Project; Black Inventors and other
educational exhibits.
Also, there will be autograph sessions with the "surviving players" from the
Negro Baseball Leagues and the "living legends" of the World War II
Tuskegee Airmen.

The Black Panther Party Exhibit will be facilitated by former members of the
organization and; conclude on Saturday with a special presentation by former
Panther Political Prisoners now known internationally as The San Francisco
8.

Currently out on bail; those on hand at the Black Memorabilia Show will
elaborate on the police/prison torture that they endured during the 70's; as well
as the Bush governments present attempt to retry these Panthers on the same
trumped up charges that were thrown out over 35 years ago. Read the case

In conclusion, the overall intent of this show is to provide an environment
where the public can be educated on the African American experience, and
where they can purchase desirable pieces of authentic and rare Black memorabilia
& collectibles including Black art and dolls. This is the largest Black
Memorabilia and Collectible Show in the country, and it attracts major exhibitors
and collectors alike. Additionally, with this (2) day event being held in
early December, it also provides an excellent venue for folks to shop for both
Kwanzaa and Christmas gifts as well.
