Event: A Panther in Exile: The continued struggle for Social Activism

Revisit the times and struggles of Charlotte Hill O'Neal, who recounts her days
of activism with the Black Panther Party. Through the documentary "A Panther
in Africa", witness the life and times of her husband and former Black Panther
Leader Pete O'Neal. Now living in East Africa, she continues her community
work as an artist, musician, poet and co-director of United African Alliance
Community Center (UAACC), based in Tanzania. Charlotte O'Neal also discusses
the importance of social activism, with sensational spoken word presentation
from her book of poetry titled Warrior Woman of Peace.
A Panther in Exile is held in conjunction with Catherine Blackwell: The
Storytellers Hat Exhibit, and a partnership with Cranbrook Educational
Community.
The event is free to the general public.
