Join the 12th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Balboa Park. The 4 mile route begins and ends at the corner of 6th and Laurel. The non-strenuous walk route takes you through Balboa Park, onto the 163 North, around parts of Hillcrest and back to the Park.

Event FAQs

The American Cancer Society promises a day of hope, inspiration, and entertainment.
Hang out at the Main Stage with our MCs Susan Taylor of NBC 7/39 and Sam Bass of KyXy 96.5. Come listen to American Cancer Society leaders and members of your community share about the advancements being made in breast cancer research and treatment and hear from cancer survivors and team leader who are passionate about the fight against breast cancer. Entertainment will begin after the walk at 10:00am.
Celebrate survivorship and hope. All participants are encouraged to stop by our Survivor and Friends tent to hear personal stories of hope. Survivors have the opportunity to share their own story of survivorship as well as receive a gift to acknowledge their courage and strength in their battle against breast cancer.
Children of all ages (and those adults that remain young at heart) are welcome at the Youth Against Breast Cancer tent. Volunteers provide games and activities for children and their parents that are both fun and educational.
Let your voice be heard by coming to the Hope Starts Here tent to learn about the advocacy and mission activities of the American Cancer Society and what you can do to make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families right here in our community.

Miles for Miracles 5K Walk for Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego)

Join us on November 7th, 2009 at Harbor Island Park as we walk for Rady Children's Hospital.

The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network is hosting a 5K walk to help raise funds for Rady Children's Hospital and we need to get the community involved.

Rady Children's Hospital is a special hospital dedicated to the health and well-being of the children of San Diego. As a non-profit hospital they will never refuse a child of service if their family cannot pay and they rely on the support of people like you, the San Diego community.

Take a few hours out of your day to walk for the children of San Diego.

Adults $15 registration / $25 day of the event
Children 11 and under are FREE
Pets are welcomed!
