I have no problem with the confessions of “ACTUAL” plantation owners, or any of the other dubious characters of American history that have destroyed and distorted the psycho-cultural infrastructures of our community; to confirm their destructive thoughts and behavior we could glean a page from any history book for ACTUAL quotes.
The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews by the NOI is an excellent resource and an easy reader along with many other books, where you have the actual statements and beliefs of various slave traders and plantation owners documented.
I didn’t need “Willie Lynch” to see what has happen to us; all I need was to talk to my elders, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Grisby and the others (PBUThem). They witnessed and lived the development of the so-called “Willie Lynch” saga.
Who better to explain our cultural enigmas, “Willie Lynch” or Big mama (the real Big Mama)? Some things must be witnessed and explained, more than read. I used the writings of Sister Marimba Ani to further understand the complexities of what was clearly taught by my elders, not to verify their truths! Why do we have to wait for a WHITE MAN to confirm what we already know? And what’s so disturbing about this document is the fact we think we need to “make up” a story that is already ALL OVER the history of American imperialism! Willie Lynch letter doesn’t even qualify as mythology, nor is it antidotal; if so, why would the young still constantly debate the living words of elders?
BTW_ though I look for no praise in this statement, I gave away about at least 5 to 6 copies of the Yurugu if not more…I say this humbly, you can get anything that is important enough for you to have, we must challenge our youth to obtain what is seemingly unobtainable….they have to change their priorities ....for if I can change, others can…the elders cut me no slack and I’m grateful until this day.
Peace
