A revolutionary is someone who will fight and die for the Liberation of our people.

I think the word "revolutionary" is thrown around too much and too many people call themselves revolutionaries without fully understanding revolution and what it takes to be a revolutionary. In my opinion, it takes years and alot of constant progressive work for the People to be even close to earning the title "revolutionary". People like Malcolm, Kwame Nkrumah, Kwame Ture, Seku Ture, Assata Shakur, etc are prime examples of revolutionaries. |

That's not to discredit others such as Huey P. Newton, Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey. They just weren't as successful. They left their mark and their legacy, but didn't make it as far as Nkrumah. So in conclusion, I define a revolutionary as a person who demands the attention of his/her people and feeds off the power of the people to lead them to liberation. In turn he/she educates the people by providing them with the neccessary tools/information needed to play a role in the revolution. |

| Theory and Practice
A revolutionary is any force who unites, in word and deed, with revolutionary theory and practice. (A revolutionary is one who is actively engaged in revolutionary work. The key thing is the political line one adheres to and the manifestation of this line in the real world.) At minimum, a revolutionary is one who desires to and actively works to completely overturn the current order of things and replace it with a more progressive system. This means that we must be moving forward, therefore, one who struggles to defeat capitalism must be struggling for socialism, because a struggle for anything else is a struggle to move backwards. There is so much more to being a revolutionary, and a lot of it has been said in this thread. But if we have to sum it up, I believe this is the most correct, basic definition.
