Developing a fundraiser

Peace and blessing my people,
I am the chair of a revolutionary organization in Detroit. Are numbers are few, but our passion for change is great. We are planning a fundraiser to generate resources to sustain our monthly newsletter and young Afrikan male mentoring program. What are some effective strategies for drawing support, (itinerary, entertainment, beverages, decor, theme etc....)
I will appreciate any advice given and any suggestions offered.

I do that every day (Mr infomation man). I never incorporated the cup, I be more interested in them reading the material then given $ here and there. I want to throw the event once a month, not just as a fundraiser but to develop a knowledgable base of supporters and bring together like minds. Please keep the ideas coming

Not directly re fund raising, I suggest another word is used in place of mentor. Won't waste your time with particulars; research the word's origin and historical usage by the originators and descendants. Mentor reflects yt's use of tricknology via their rhetorical ethics.

If you have a space, meaning like anywhere you can have people come to. You can host a lecture series. Charge people a small fee to attend, and you or who ever else from your organization can share information with the community about what ever subject you choose concerning our struggle.You can also invite spokespersons from other local organizations to speak.You can also have an intermission period where you can allow spoken word artist or revolutionary rappers to entertain the audience.You could also vend products if you have any. This creates a great atmosphere because you can not only get information out to the community, but you can also raise some money for your movement, and also network with other revolutionaries that you may not have came into contact with before.
This is what we're doing in Jersey and it is proving to be effective (EXTENDED BLACK FAMILY MOVEMENT)

Also if you have young people in your Movement or your members have children. Organize a Car Wash or a Leomonade/Juice sell. This way not only do you make a couple of dollars but you teach the children entrepenuerialship and self dependence when it comes to making money for themselves.Dont forget to give the children their share of the profits!

Also what about a fish/food sale. Just some suggestions for you family.
