disabling reputation points

How is it done? I've done it before in the past, but it was so long ago, I forget how to do it.

Yeah...my rep points are disabled, but I am not asking for myself. And I forgot how I did it.

I continue to be surprised at why people are having difficulty abling and disabling this function:

Warrior CP > Edit Options > "uncheck" Show My Reputation Level

your reputation is not immediately turned off. so dont go fiddling with it over and over again. uncheck the box and wait a day or so and it will turn off eventually.

by the way, the reputation points were not developed for message boards solely so people can develop reputations per se. its so people can show their appreciation for your posts without flooding the threads with sidebar comments. its also a way of showing new members which current visitors have more nefarious reputations, so they can sidestep the riff-raff.

For the life of me I am not surprised at why I are having difficulty abling and disabling this reputation points function.

I can't seem to locate this option where you said it would be. I followed your directions to go to... Warrior CP > Edit Options > "uncheck" Show My Reputation Level

Now it may be an oversight on my part, cuz I wear glasses...hahahaha but I cannot find anywhere to disable this option.

Please help...cuz I am surprised at me also not being able to disable this option, especially since you gave such specific directions.

B4 i was an admin., Sis. Tyree admonished me for not being able to find it either . That's cuz it just ain't there, i read over my options several times b4 and know for a fact it wasn't. i had to get her to disable my rep points, so i'd be glad to help someone else do it.

what happens when a non-mod tries to follow the instructions i listed above? i'd be curious to know. maybe it isnt there except for some of us. lol

i tried it two or three times cuz i was like those points and bars are hardly a measure of contributions to the forum...i seen folk that just hopped up on the forum with more rep than Assata and the founders of the site and admins...i don't know maybe they got several accounts to give themselves rep ...

it worked for a little bit for me but then somebody voted for a thread and a comment and the bar was off moving again...eventually i gave up partially cuz i was tired of folk asking me if i was being punished after seeing me with x amount of bars one day then 1 bar the next day after my disabling was foiled by a stray vote for a post of mine...

i'm still under the opinion that rep isn't an accurate guage of contributions to the forum and don't mean nothing...unfortunately "disabling" rep means less since this is my second or third start over on "rep" after bugging Jacuma and rebelAfrika to disable...i just gave up and let it go...

Comrade AK goto your "Warrior CP" on the left select "options" uncheck "show my reputation levels" and that should do the trick...
