Herbals for children, infants, pregnant wombmen, and breast feeding mothers.

Herbals for children, infants, pregnant wombmen, and breast feeding mothers.

The FDA won’t say much about herbs and supplements. What wholistic measures if any do you take for ill or cranky children? What about a healthy immune system and support for reproductive organs? What about pregnant wombmen and breast feeding mothers? I look forward to any comments. I’m no expert but I know a few things. I will post more as it comes to me. Please ask questions, make comments, offer suggestions. This is not to say you should not take your young ones for medical care…but I am wanting to know what we can do for ourselves in our homes, with herbal supplements just as our ancestors did.
Younger Children

Catnip is good for mild fevers, upper respiratory tract infections, colic, headache, nervousness, sleep disorders, and upset stomach.

Chamomile- safe for all ages

Licorice is good for indigestion, mucus, respiratory infections, respiratory support, and stomach ulcers. Too much licorice can cause headaches and HIGH BLOOD pressure. No more then 3 grams for children.
Ginger, lemon, honey are safe after toddler years.
Echinacea- small doses are safe
Fennel- safe especially for babies. Commonly used in grip water recipes.

Older Children

Female children-According to Dr. Llaila O. African female children should take red raspberry, catnip, wild yam, rosemary, and chaste just to mention a few at the onset of 12 years
Male children- Saw pimento, Maca, Muria Puama, Wild Yam, Gotu Kola, Sarsaparilla, Tribulus, and Dopa Bean just to name a few….at the onset of 14years.

The best herb for pregnant mother's is red raspberry tea. Its high in nutrients and it prepare the uterus for birth. Helps to make childbirth more bearable. It also helps to create healthy breastmilk.

Thanks so much. I havn't any youth but I've been drinking red rasberry for years because I heard it promotes a healthy uterus. I think all women need that. I had no idea about its benefits for breastmilk and actual childbearing. Thanks for posting this.
