"Case Dismissed" Congressman Bobby Rush Loses!!

JR called after the court hearing today, a smile in his voice. When his case came up-a case that could have locked him in jail for a year- he was in court but his accuser, i.e., his false accuser, Congressman and former Illinois Black Panther Party Defence Minister Bobby Rush, wasn't.

The judge asked whether Rush had been notified of the hearing, and JR responded that Rush had been present at the previous hearing when today's hearing was scheduled. The prosecuter, trying to buy time, rummaged through the file, finally fished out the formal letter of notification and concurred. Still no Rush.

"Case Dismissed", bellowed the judge. After confirming that the judge meant what he'd said, JR left the courtroom. As he left the building, up walked Bobby Rush. Too late; too bad.

Yesterday, Sunday, several women elders who've been supporting JR and the POCC had gone to church at the church Bobby Rush attends. At the time to testify, they spoke out about the false charges Rush, a powerful Congressman, had filed against the young Oakland journalist, JR.

Today, one of those elders came to court to support JR and, approaching Bobby Rush when she say him in the courthouse, began to scold him. Rush, having discovered the case had been dismissed by the judge, told her, "I dropped the charges".(YEA RIGHT)
