| Obama? Is he really the problem? really?
I saw this and also recently I learned he has denied that African-Americans should recieve reparations! The issue is not that he disconnects himself from us but that we expect him to! It is a preposterous idea to think that a pro-poor, pro-black, pro-masses African-American candidate has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Presidency of the United States! It is evident of a mind that has not studied the history and culture of our enemy, White Supremacy that thinks that this beast will accept an Afrikan like me to be president. I am pro-reparations having worked in the field for some six years, I will never be president. I am 38 and have been in this movement for our folks' elevation for 22 years, I can be expected to be for the Black Community. We should be ashamed even thinking Obama can say, oh yes I am going to be pro the Black Community. Perhaps he is the sleeper, perhaps the Spook Who Sat By The Door! I will wait and see, If in office he behaves like the enemy then his spirit will also recieve the bladed end of my Survival Knife too, along with his belove White Amerikkka!!!

HTH can we all come together without even acknowledging the issues and the atrocities that landed us here in the first place? People just want to sweep this shit under the rug and "not dwell on the past"

Just the thought of having a black face as a leader of a country created by the exploitation of millions of Africans is mind blowing. I believe that is what is leading so many to want Obama to be the next president; his policies are rarely detailed because we do not want to lose that dream that yes, there will be a black president. It has taken such a long time to get to this point...who wants to let it slip? Even with those who have no knowledge of self identity or their history (because we all know history books are filled with chapter after chapter of White American heros, while we have to question did Blacks even exist back then)...this is a present accomplishment. This is a breakthrough. Children of color can finally see that anything is possible...they can go as far as they want to and rule the world! I believe/hope that Obama is just following regular political procedures too insure his win...and when he gets in the White house...its gonna be a LIBERATION!!! White politicians have tricked blacks for so long for our votes...why can't a Black politician do the same to whites? Also, even if Obama would like to ignore it...he knows the realistic pressure that will be on him once he is in office. Some from whites but a great deal from blacks! If he is as intelligent as I believe...there is no way he can plan on being a ruler of this country and not changing the status of the black community. Lastly, *lol* the media is still run by the white majority...could it be the negative parts of Obama are MEANT to reach the black community as to lose votes? IDK...just a thought..this worlds is so corrupt sometimes...it is hard to pin point the root of evil |

Let us look at the super structure and the economic infrastructure of the United States it is not conducive to an African descendant president who will operate against the power structure. Europeans are not that daft, they will defend their political power by any means neccesary. It is we who have yet found the gall to do whatever may be neccesary to secure food, shelter and clothing for our children!!! True power is not to be found in the courts and halls of the enemy, it will be found in your house, she lays next to you African men, He lays next to you African women; Power is in the hearts of your children. They require the intellect, the spirit and the weapon to defend them!

He completely dodge the question by just pointing out shit he's done "by the white mans book" nothing profound or serious has been done all he did was pass legislation that can and has been over looked walked around and ignored. The brother that stood up to ask the real question didn't get his answer, just his power snatched from his hands.....by another black man not man enough to speak up himself.

| Ironically Isreal, his Kenyan Grandmother once said, "Barack is a very clever boy!" Of course if you study our traditions, i.e., B'rer Rabbit, Anansi, and others being "clever" is a sign of great intellect. He has a great intellect, very wily character Obama is. It is unfortunate that he believes in this system as something that can work for all people and all of that rubbish. If he were a Pan-Afrikan Nationalist, white folks would be in trouble!!!

| Diop Olugbala Speaks Out About Obama Protest New Video - Uhuru Mov't Responds to Barack Obama ![]() (watch the video on Uhuru News : Home) Diop Olugbala Speaks Out: "Why We Challenged Barack Obama" By Diop Olugbala, International Organizer for the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement ![]() On Friday, August 1st I led a contingent of the Uhuru Movement into Barack Obama’s town hall meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida to raise the question, “what about the black community, Obama?” Without the benefit of a big media budget, our organization attempted to bring the serious issues experienced by African working class people across this country into the national political debate. These issues include the targeting of African and Latino communities with predatory “sub-prime” mortgages – a scheme that has made millions for people like Obama’s chief financial advisor Penny Pritzker, while stripping black families of billions of dollars, the greatest loss of wealth our community has suffered since being brought in chains to this country. We also challenged Obama to take a stand against the police shootings of unarmed African people, and explain why he has publicly defended the judge’s acquittal of the NYC police who murdered Sean Bell. He has said that he cannot speak out on behalf of those who have been historically oppressed for fear of offending other people. Yet in Miami, he promised the Jewish community, which considers itself a historically oppressed community, that he supports turning all of Jerusalem over to Israeli control, despite the internationally enforced sharing of that city with the Palestinians. When Obama speaks to black audiences, he attacks us, attributing our community’s poverty, not to systemic oppression, but to bad culture and lack of work ethic. Barack Obama has criticized African fathers for abandoning our children, although a recent study showed that black fathers stay more involved with their children after a split from the mother than white fathers. And Obama says nothing of the unjust imprisonment of 1 in 9 black men of child-bearing age, the overwhelming majority of whom are locked up on minor drug or other non-violent economic violations stemming from conditions of desperate poverty. He has failed to achieve any meaningful program of economic development for the African community. In speaking to a group of black legislators, Obama said “a good economic development plan for our community would be if we make sure folks weren’t throwing their garbage out of their cars.” Barack Obama wants to increase military spending and praised Clinton for abolishing AFDC and welfare. He has reversed his position opposing the death penalty and speaks out against reparations. He wants to escalate the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan and has threatened Venezuela and Iran with military aggression. He has upheld the FISA, supporting wire-tapping and government spying on citizens. He receives unprecedented financial backing from Wall Street. His close advisors and potential cabinet members include war criminal Richard Clarke, Tri-lateral commission founder Zbigniev Brzezinski, Madeleine ‘it’s worth the price of 1 million dead Iraqi children’ Albright, and Free Trade advocates Jason Furman and Austan Goolsbee. Some argue that we must support Obama or else we are supporting McCain. We in the Uhuru Movement don’t believe our community should restrict our political options to a choice between one white ruling class party or another. In fact, the black community’s most recent experiences in the U.S. electoral arena have resulted not only in the Republican Party’s theft of our votes, but prior to that we suffered some of the worst attacks on our community at the hands of the Democratic Party administration of William Jefferson Clinton, who put 100,000 more police on our streets to murder our people, privatized the prisons to exploit our unpaid labor, and discontinued the public subsidies for impoverished children and families that had been won by African people as a concession to our movement of the 1960s. African people’s experiences with these last several elections and the desperate conditions facing our community have created a willingness by our people to seek independent political alternatives. In response to this crisis, the white rulers put forward Barack Obama – a pied piper taking African people back into clutches of the Democratic Party. If anyone looks seriously at the positions, programs and advisors of Barack Obama, they will see that he does not stand for any kind of real change, but for the defense of the same old status quo, with a new face. America is in an economic crisis and the white ruling class hopes to save itself by deepening the exploitation of African people in the U.S. and on the continent of Africa, where the world’s biggest reserves of oil and precious minerals lie. How better to do it than with an African face at the head of state? Our success as a people requires that we achieve our own independent political agenda. African people’s votes should be contingent on the willingness of a candidate to support and fight for that agenda. The International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement has invited Barack Obama, John McCain and Cynthia McKinney to attend our annual convention on September 27-28 in St. Petersburg, Florida to clarify their position on the question, “what about the black community?’ Based on their response, we will consider endorsement of a U.S. presidential candidate. Well He In Fact Lied To Those Brothas On Every Point That He Said He Spoke Out On Or Supported. IT WAS THE SUPERIOR BANK IN CHICAGO, OWNED BY THE PRITZKER FAMILY, THAT ORCHESTRATED THE PREDATORY LENDING SCAM. SUPERIOR BANK WAS IN FACT RUN BY PENNY PRITZKER. Penny Pritzker Is A Billionaire And One Of The Wealthiest Women In America. She Was Among The First Jews To Finance Obama In Chicago As A Young Senator. In Fact It Was Mostly Jews Who Coached Him And Mentored Him As A "community Activist". The Pritzker Family Owns The Hyatt Hotel Chain, They Are Zionist Jews Who Strongly Advocate For Israel, And They Are One Of The Wealthiest Families In America With Strong Political Influence In American Politics. "Obama s Sub-Prime Conflict" by Dennis Bernstein "Superior Bank of Chicago went belly up in 2001 with over $1 billion in insured and uninsured deposits. This collapse came amid harsh criticism of how Superior?s owners promoted sub-prime home mortgages. As part of a settlement, the owners paid $100 million and agreed to pay another $335 million over 15 years at no interest. But this seven-year-old bank failure has relevance in another way today, since the chair of Superiors board for five years was Penny Pritzker, a member of one of America?s richest families and the current Finance Chair for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama, the same candidate who has lashed out against predatory lending. During a recent campaign stop in south Texas, Obama met with San Antonio-area residents who had been particularly hard hit by the sub-prime meltdown. He expressed dismay over how lobbyists for the sub-prime lending industry had spent more than $185 million in the last several years for their cause. Though Superior Bank collapsed years before the current sub-prime turmoil that is rocking the world's financial markets - and pushing those millions of homeowners toward foreclosure - some banking experts say the Pritzkers and Superior hold a special place in the history of the sub-prime fiasco. The [sub-prime] financial engineering that created the Wall Street meltdown was developed by the Pritzkers and Ernst and Young, working with Merrill Lynch to sell bonds securitized by sub-prime mortgages, Timothy J. Anderson, a whistleblower on financial and bank fraud, told me in an interview. The sub-prime mortgages, Anderson said, were provided to Merrill Lynch, by a nation-wide Pritzker origination system, using Superior as the cash cow, with many millions in FDIC insured deposits. Superior's owners were to sub-prime lending, what Michael Milken was to junk bonds. In other words, if you traced today's sub-prime crisis back to its origins, you would come upon the role of the Pritzkers and Superior Bank of Chicago." CommonDreams.org /2008/02/28/7340/ |
