Description of Event: Poetry meets jazz in an evening reminiscent of the movie “Love Jones�, called “Poets N’ Jazz� at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL). On December 2nd and 3rd 2005 (at 8pm), the Dallas area’s hottest poets flow over a jazz trio, as they compete for a cash prize and showcase their works. The audience decides who takes home the cash price. Held in the cabaret style Clarence Muse Café’ Theater, with its candlelit ambience and full-service bar, this program attracts an urban demographic with a penchant for upscale entertainment that comprises both art and socializing.
