Glad you clarified that, brother. In the contemporary history of our community there has never been that kind of conflict that i know of, but times , people & perceptions change. The "old school" and the "new school" is a good example of what i mean.

Most were practicing 'Tradition West and Central African' religions. This means they practiced things like Yoruba, Vodoun. Palo, Orisa. The practices that still exist in South America and the Caribbean that are often demonized by people of Abrahamic religions. Some slaves were Muslim, but very few. Same as the Hebrews(Lemba), very few. Most were animistic, shamanic, ancestral, nature based traditions.

At this point in my life, I don't have a problem with anyone over their personal religion, as long as they don't think that their religion should be shared by all blacks, or that they are better than someone else because of religion. Religion is personal and should stay out of revolution, other than giving people, like I have said many times, a pro-black version of their OWN beliefs.

I am not familiar with all the religions you speak of, but I think everyone has a free choice and free exercise of religion because it is personal like you say. I think my religion has alot of good in it when people are true to it, and I put it out there. But it is not to say that "I'm better." I feel it is upon each person who sees what I write about Islam to agree or disagree, and if they dont agree I have no problem with that. The thing I hope is that regardless of what religion any of us might be, we can come together in UNITY to reach the political goal of National Independence and Liberation. I believe that we are all we have.

Im glad you understand religion should be an individual preference and should be kept out of the core goals of the liberation struggle.

That means the NOI is useless.

AGREED when it comes to the subject of nation-building.

But in this struggle to revolutionize ourselves and more-so to UNITE ourselves, do you think the teachings of 1 particular religion will carry us to the ends of these goals?

And if you are not in agreement with religion to accomplish this, then what banner should we all place ourselves, all Afrikans upon to achieve these goals?
